Diagnosis.

Hi yall

Hope I've got this right.

Scanned with time ECU and found the following.

I've got 3 fault codes

P0122, TPS low voltage, short to ground or open circuit.
P0505, idle speed control system malfunction.
P0654, tachometer circuit malfunction.

TPS 1 0.61v
TPS 2 1.40v.

So is it fair to say I need a new TPS1?

These could be older codes.
Reset the codes and see if they come on again.

In addition.
With the engine not running but turned on on the TuneECU diagnostics page when you work the throttle see if the indicator gauge shows the proper response.

+1, the harness was replaced recently so chances are the codes were thrown then and will clear now

i am assuming that these readings r with ign on engine not running or may be info off of the freeze frame


TPS 1 0.61v looks good
TPS 2 1.40v. looks bad
the fact that u have 3 codes means that one component may be responsible for the other codes.
in a case like this i advise(like others said) clear codes and see what comes back.
if u have the tunecu u might be able to check the primary and secondary tps again to see if the volts come down to the .60 volts.
now i would not concider this carved into stone because the ecu might have commanded the sec to close
also the sec tps might be stuck at that position (1.4v)
the tps is made to where they can stick and still return throttle

actually the primary tbs should read .72v
so if u have .61 with ign on engine not running then u might have the idle stepper motor not working

Reset codes and they seem to have buggered off for now.
TPS values are as follows....
Engine running
TPS1 0.63
TPS2 1.47
Engine off but ignition on....
TPS1 0.63
TPS2 0.67

Did I dun good??

Now you can do the ISCV reset using TuneECU. This sets your primary TPS and idle stepper up correctly

P.S. ISCV reset must be done with ignition on but engine not running

I tapped reset iscu and the revs picked up then died down to 850ish rpm

Might be pretty close if it settled in at 850 without adjusting anything. Still I would be happiest if I went through the adjustment procedure. You'll know you need it if you note strange variable idle speeds and other unexplainable behaviors.
