Was reading a few days back that when Triumph machine the R3 crank (17.3kg +/- when finished) there is (on average to within a few grams) 4.8kg of swarf produced. That's almost enough to make the crank in the 675 engine which weighs 5.3kg in total....

...also, there are 21 teaspoons of sugar per litre in Coke....

When they make the R3 crank, its cast with all the big ends in alignment then it is heat treated also twisting the big ends into place. Told me thus during the factoy tour thus year.
