I received a few new bolt on items and installed them today. One was highway pegs. Boy was I ever shocked to find after I bolted them on and went to adjust them. When I put my feet up on them they just fell away toward the radiator. I can't believe that a set of factory Triumph crash bars are this flimzy and cheap. Does some one have a fix for this?

IDK

You are a wealth of information. That is what I was thinking also but then I would have to have them re-chromed to cover the repair where you weld them up.

You da man

Thanks

look at the tops, if they are not reinforced and gusseted, rounded and stiff then you have the original bars, they suck.

the second generation are awsome, I love them, when I first opened the box I was impressed with the quality and workmanship, 1000 times better then the first ones...

Old ones are weak... but saved my bike when the crappy washed out frount shocks ( didnt realise they were that bad til I road another rocket) let the frount end collapse & lowside me on heavy breaking. The bike slid down on the right then flipped up & whacked down on the left. both crash bars folded like cardboard, but acted like a sled & all the bike took was a couple of small exhaust scuffs.

Not just me who loses the front end when braking. Its a real confidence knocker. You cant brake hard because the front end just skids from under you and snatches the bars to one side.Let go of the brake and it rights itself.I thought it was a dodgy front tyre but my new one also does it.This is why i cant understand people upgrading the brakes because you cant stop any quicker on the standard brakes because of this problem. If anyone wants a heart stopping moment then find a straight road and brake real hard when the front lets go get off the brake and it will right itself. You definately wouldnt be able to do stoppies on a rocket. I have upgraded the forks and it still does it.

Sorry to hear yours still does it step1, mine didnt used to when the forks were younger.. have locked up the frount before & all I got was a twitch & slide which settled off the brakes.

They never sold them as "crash bars" and listed them as "dresser bars" and they done that for a reason

I try to avoid Triumph branded stuff as I don't trust the quality
