I must be missing something..... I've removed the entire rear mud guard without removing the back tire.

I'll have to look at mine and see how hard it would be just to change the bulb.

You probably do not have a Hitchdoc Hitch. I went back in the shop and took a picture apologize for the dirt have been riding as you see it is solid steel up to the tire on the bottom and on the sides the only place you have to try to get your arm is in between license plate and hitch which my arm does not fit just thought I would try to explain my dilemma. It extremely well made Hitch which I have no complaints but the picture might help clear up the mystery
