European Stage V emissions regulations are going into effect in 2019 that impact small engines, many of my Customers are scrambling to meet them with upgraded cooling systems (primarily Diesel systems). Much hotter combustion needed to reduce particulate size to meet the regulation. Not sure if this might be affecting some of the legacy motorcycles in the article but I can tell you that my Off Highway Customers who were previously exempt are now spending quite a bit of engineering time and money to meet these standards- bigger fans and rad packages along with fan clutches to avoid noise issues.
