I am sure you Florida Captains are used to 80 degree weather, but here in Washington State (Bremerton/Seattle) we have not had one day over 60 degrees for the last 6 months, until today.

I had made an appointment with the vinyl window guy to come over and give me an estimate to replace all my windows. The appointment was at 10:00. When he got here it was already 60 degrees so I told him he had 60 minutes to give me his speech and then I was out of there headed for North Shore of Hood Canal. He was real good about it and was done in about 50 minutes, I think I will buy his windows just because he knew a little bit about Triumph and used to own a Bonniville himself. But, he doesn't ride anymore cause being a contractor all his life he is pretty screwed up physically, that's why he does the selling now and not the installing. I told him I got aches and pains to, but when I'm on the Rocket nothing hurts.

Anyway, I took out of here headed for Belfair and hood canal. A couple of weeks ago I took a cold ride around South Shore, so decided to head down North Shore this time. I knew that North Shore was closed to through traffic, heavy road damage for this winters rains, so figured I wouldn't get farther than Belfair State Park.

Took the Old Belfair Highway from Bremerton to get in a few twisties. Man were there a lot of bikes out. Caught up with a few "Bikers" about half way to Belfair. Came up on the fast and then hung back. They couldn't figure out what those Bug Eyes were behind them. Had a chance between twisties and blew by them. I was getting tired of choking on their smoke.
In my opinion, those ape hangers look really uncomfortable.

When I got to Belfair, there were about 50 bikers headed down North Shore coming from the other direction. At the 4 way stop, I crept into the middle of the pack. That was fun. They couldn't tell if I was part of their group or not. They took turns getting close to see what I was riding. I just acted like I was suppose to be there, giving then the peace sign and all that.

When we got about 5 miles down North Shore the road was closed to through traffic and detoured. The group just kept going, like they didn't even see the signs. OK I thought, Belfair doesn't have enough cops to give us all a ticket, so I just held by spot. What a beautiful ride. Didn't matter that I was with a bunch of Harley's, they were nice folks and didn't kick me to the curb, although I expected to see several shoulder holsters when we stopped in Tahuya. They all took the exit to Dowatto, and I have a leisurely ride back. What a beautiful day. Temp. at the Fairgrounds read 82 degrees when I arrived back in Bremerton.

Any other Captains take advantage of today's weather? Love to hear of your travels.

Drive safe....

Had a pleasant trip from Monroe to Issaquah. Not many bikes southbound on 203 except for the few I passed. All HDs and they didn't want to play.

Coming back, in late afternoon, temp about 80 F. Lots of bikes at the watering holes along the way, seemed to be few on the road. Guess they were tired of their vibrators
Got stuck in a "parade" lead by a motor-homely followed by a HD bagger followed by a cage folowed by another HD followed by another cage and a pickem up truck and then me. Speed limit says 55, and this parade is doing 40. Can't stand it!! Finally coming out of Duvall there is stretch of road about a mile long without the double yellow. Check to see if it was clear and it was. Saw the HDs pull out and decided I would go too
About the time the HDs are clearing the motor homely, remember they are 1 and 3 back and I'm wayyy back, I'm up on them and screaming down the road They finally pull back into the right lane as I go pass at, can we say Rocket speed I pulled back in and slowed down, checked the mirrors and they didn't want to play either I wonder why?

They caught up with me while I was at a traffic light, long light, in Monroe and edged up next to me and quickly made a right turn. You should have seen the look of amazement on their faces. LOL

Ended up doing a little more riding around and then headed to get gas. While getting gas, a lady walks up and starts admiring my black is faster Rocket.

"What abeautiful bike. My husband rides a HD cruiser. How big is it? Is it fast? Whats it cost?" I go through the usual routine of - blah, blah. She goes on about how beautiful the bike is and she is 63 yr old and taking basic MSF course to get her endorsement etc, etc. When she gets her lisc to ride, she says she is going to look/test ride a Rocket.

What was to be only about a 70 mile ride ended up about 140 miles. A very pleasant days ride in all.
