cuttin torch or Rotozip.
No seriously I've not had the pleasure, but I have often wondered what the R3 would sound like with a set of open headers on it.
I wonder if there's a tune for that.
Next, what'd you have to give for them D&D's if you don't mind me askin.
I want a set, but can't find a price on their site.

I pulled mine out of the Jardines, the right side came right out but the left one was pretty much stuck. I got it to move slightly and then working it back and forth, I shot a little redneck lube (WD-40) on it and it worked right out. If it'll move, it should come out as long as your tips aren't out of round. Do the baffles have a hole through the middle so that you can get a piece of threaded rod with a washer on the end through? If so insert the threaded rod with a washer and a nut, duh and pull the baffle from the backside. Can you tell I'm not familiar with the D&D's?

Oh and BTW, the Rocket sounds like an old Lemans Race car with open exhaust, kinda raspy below 2500 RPM, but throaty and ballsy above. I'm still running without baffles and I like it.

CAD,
What tune are you runnin?
Do you have a tuneboy or PC3?
So, you're sayin YOU like it open huh?
I think I would too, just don't want it runnin to rich or lean.

It's a modified tune that I got from Brain over on the dot net site and then added some more fuel in the lower rpm tabs to get rid of the decel popping.

Actually I have both a PCIII and the Tuneboy and the PCIII is still installed but just has the map zeroed out.

Yep I do like the open exhaust, I drag raced for several years and there's something about the sound of open exhaust that gets my blood running hot.

Opening the exhausts will cause the engine to lean out some, but I don't think you'll do any great harm to it, if you just wanna see if you like it or not. Maybe a quick blast down the road and back, you'll be fine, now I wouldn't recommend any sustained full throttle runs, but you'll know pretty much when you start the bike if it's something that you want.
