was out of town for 3 weeks.temps was consistenly around 20F .Forgot to remove J1939 bluetooth transmitter, must have completely drained the(Harley C9) battery:mad:.Measured voltage was 5V,tried to jump start with car battery but would hear a click sound and started didnt kick in.
Not sure if I blew a fuse or if bike wont start with bad battery.

I've found that with newer batteries, that if they get completely discharged they are often unrecoverable. Not sure why, or if I was just dealing with a batteries that were failing anyway, but I've had two that died that way.

Both times I left a radar detector on, I've since wired it into a switched circuit, slow learner I guess.

battery

It should have started with a jump start, just never do a jump start from a running car engine.
Always jump start with the car not running, you probably blew a fuse... hopefully.

That should do it. Any batteries that drop under 10 volts would be a challenge to bring them back to life... Thus, one need to be careful to what items we leave on. Also, a good trigger charger might be a good investment, as for $40 will provide you with many years of service keeping your batteries charged are ready.

My bike doesn't seem to like the cold, as it takes me a good 2 to 3 seconds to start. A charged battery is must for these cold days.

Good luck.

Giving up on battery ,left it on tender overnight & voltage is still 6V.will be installing Odyssey PC625.

Where is tha main fuse located & Amp(type of fuse).

under your seat rectangular black box clutch side (left when seating ) odyssey are good batteries I liked the 680 over the 625 just because it has been on the bike 3 years and still cranks out full voltage and amps.. I keep it warm and on a trickle charger in the winter

Installed Odyssey PC625,started up right away ,first crank. But the legth of stock 'L" battery terminals is shorter than distance form edge of battery to termianls of battery ,as the result the terminals screw in an angle.

Any suggestions what modifications were done to fit the battery harness properly on PC625

temperature dipped to 20F here today..tried starting it but brand new is completely drained.Guess even the Odyssey battery wont hold up to low ambient temp well.Hope hooking up a tender will brign battery back to life.

anyone know what is spare watt generated by R3 classic alternator(installed OEM fog lamp55W each, rode around town for a bit Sunday, wondering if fog lamps might have contributed to battery drain)

It should not have drained the battery that much. most people on the site have gave up on the pc625 battery and use the scorpion which has 320 CCA. it seems to hold up better. Myself I use the scorpion and a 600CCA lithium ferrous battery piggybacked and stored in the air box with room to spare.

I would be looking for a direct short somewhere, as Scott says it shouldn't have drained flat in a few days even at those temps.
