There are a variety of tunes available on their website for rockets that you can download
 
So maybe I should try 87 octane and see how that goes but the previous owner did state it needs premium, maybe because of the tune?

I might try and disconnect the PC and see how that goes COYI
 
So, do you think going to 87 will help with the backfiring?
 
I'm just used to the MPG of my 955i and Bigger doesn't always mean worse.
 
First if you have tune ecu copy the map that is in it so you/we can see whats installed. It could be you have a standard tune and a PCIII unit with the O2 sensor still in the bike which would negate some of the areas. You should also see what type of filtration it has on it. as the stuff coming up thru the throttle bodies could be something simple like a vacuum leak or the throttle bodies not down on the manifold. I would not make drastic changes until you find out what you have.
