I've got this guy who says he has a V-rod that will pretty much "smoke" anything. He says it was a "Limited" edition V-rod made in 07....only 1,400 made (doesn't sound very "limited" to me...but we are talking Harley's here).

Anyway, he says it has 170 Hp, 250 rear tire and (as usual) keeps it in storage (since he works over here...can't blame him there) and hardly rides it....I asked him then what's the point. Also says it cost like $32,000 or so. Is this guy for real? I told him my, or just about anybody's, Rocket can pretty much clean up most bikes (obviously there are some exceptions) but Harley's were pretty much not much to lose much sleep over.

I also said that if this was the big Harley answer to "challenging" the Rocket then on this website we would have heard of it as who ever got passed by it (standing still...in his words...not that he has done it he admits) would be letting the site know that you might not want to challenge it as it would whup our butts.

Anyway, it was seems like a tall story, but if it has any truth to it...does anyone know about it?

RocketDaryl, have you heard of it?

He is for real. Harley made a "limited" number of these that were pretty much strictly for drag racing. I thought they cost substantially more than $32K for the real thing. I could look back through some mags but it would be in either Cycle World or MotorCyclist.

Molinoman ,

If your friend has one of these
that why its setting in garage.
It's not a street legal bike , Harley
sold as Drag strip legal only !

VRXSE

The VRXSE V-Rod Destroyer is Harley-Davidson's production drag racing motorcycle, constructed to run the quarter mile in under ten seconds. It is based on the same revolution engine that powers the VRSC line, but the VRXSE uses the Sceamin' Eagle 1300cc "stroked" incarnation, featuring a 75mm crankshaft, 105mm Pistons, and 58mm throttle bodies.
The V-Rod Destroyer is not a street legal motorcycle.

Good luck trying to ever get it registered, insured, etc. It doesn't have a street legal VIN and all the "customizing" in the world won't change that fact. I still don't understand why someone would do that? You can build a whole lot more bike for a whole ot less money using a used A or B model as a donor bike.

Thanks guys for clearing that up...so he was right, but he was wrong. I'm like you, why would you spend that much money unless you "lived" at the drag strip? I know I've wasted money during my life but not at that magnitude.

And 12 thousand dollar Busas and ZX14s that run the streets will kill it. The first one the dealer got here is still here.

Everybody's got one

You know I wondered about those bikes. Seemed like every time I stepped into a Harley boutique there was one sitting in the middle of the floor or up on a rotating dias. I asked about them once or twice and when I got the pat "it's not street legal" answer, I moved on because what do I want with an overpriced dealership show off piece of useless art. Granted, they are competitive if you limit the class to 1300cc or less V-twins, but just barely. The one I sat on did have a 250 tire but it was a goodyear wrinkle wall racing slick. I know I didn't ask the question but thanks for the info anyway. I HAD been curious.
And yeah, alot of guys here in Kuwait have the "built to the gills" racer or the "1 of 13 made" classics, back home in storage. They just forgot to bring pics of it with them, even though they have 20 gigs of movies or **** on their computers. I raise the BS flag to full staff a lot around here. When a guy can't produce a pic of something that they SHOULD be proud of I just call "liar" and move on.

Well, I did have to work with him....I was just being polite. But, you are right...no pictures....I've got lots of pictures of my "stuff".

Awe, come on now...let fantasy exist in those that can only fantasize:D Theyve never felt the likeness of the real Fat Bottom Girl:D, on the highways.

The offered bike and the racing one is a different animal. They modded the mod, typical HD.
