Just signed onto the forum, and am enjoying reading about the Rocket III. Thought I'd introduce myself and not just lurk.

I haven't bought one yet, but the more I read, the more I like and want. I've been out of motorcycles since 1979 (last bike a 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000), and I guess I'm getting that mid-life crisis action started now. :)

I had never seen a Rocket III until I went to a recent bike rally in Rockingham, NC. As soon as I walked up, I knew this is the bike I'd like to get back into riding on.

Won't be looking at new Rockets ($$$$) but interested in good condition low milers.

Any thoughts, fire away, I'm listening. Thanks to all for the info, both past and future!

James

Also...if you read this previously, I posted it yesterday into an existing thread. Thought an introduction in own thread might be more appropriate...

Welcome from East Tennessee.........once you buy a rocket you wont go to anything else so just bite the bullet and spend the money.:D:D

Welcome!!

I know the feeling. I'm 41 yrs old. I had a 06 ZX-10R and was looking for something more comfortable and still have power. When I saw the 2010 Triumph Roadster it was all over. No other bike even mannered anymore. My friend would say "Hey look at that bike!" I'd say "Yeah whatever." Took me 4 months to get her and the night before I picked her up I couldn't sleep. I would like for Triumph to keep those Roadsters on the show room floor. I've been to 3 dealerships in my area and they don't have them. Anyways it might have to with the area I live in or something. (South Carolina)

Welcome Landis.
Rode another very popular brand for several decades.
Took one test ride, and swapped brand loyalty....
IF you decide to take a test ride,
take your checkbook along, it'll save ya a trip home.....
On another note, whether you get a Roadster, Standard or Touring model,
Remember Anything can be changed to make it more like YOU want it,
but if you get the touring, you can't go as big on the rear tire.
Other than that they're all similar and outrageous to ride.
Good luck on whatever you decide and again,
WELCOME from OKLAHOMA,

Welcome aboard future captain.
Forgive me, but you'll hardly ever find better than hellfire's ride listed in the classified section. I say forgive me because hellfire has fallen on difficult times, and I hope to ride with him someday... but he sure has a sweet lookin' scoot barely broke in.

Welcome from So. Florida. I bought( stole) my R3T in Durham NC with only 500 miles on it and just can't seem to be rid of the GRIN EFFECT!!!:D....... :D

:D :D :D:D

:D :D :D

Good Luck!!!:D

Well you're sure thinking straight and you should be able to find exactly what you're after. HellFire's bike would be a sweet buy - so many extras and he's already done all the mods you'll only want to do yourself anyway. Welcome to the site and good luck in your search.
