This exclusive spy shot of Triumph's all-new Trophy 1200 is the first to show the bike in final form - most of the details are complete and the bike is nearing production readiness. The Trophy has been developed alongside the Tiger Explorer,...

Finally! Hmmmmmm... Have to think on that one.. Sure could be prettier, but then again, I own a Rocket and I was a previous owner of a Honda CX500. :D

It's hard to get a real good look at it with the big MCN splattered across it. Yeah, I understand that they have to protect their copyrights, yadayada, but don't tease me this way.

I would assume that this is going to be ride-by-wire like the Explorer so a factory cruise would be standard fare. I can wish for little things, can't I?

I like the body work myself, not what I'd want,
but from what I can tell it looks better than a harley of the same displacement.
Looks like a cruiser in the making..Maybe Triumph will experiment with this Trophy
getting all the bugs worked out then come out with a TRUE TOURING ROCKET next...
Hey, I can hope too right?

With throttle by wire I would assume it will have cruise control.. It's probably gonna be a pretty awesome bike in that class.

I don't know why Triumph doesn't just throw a trunk and a true fairing with tunes, GPS, cruise, etc on the R3T. I mean, that's an easy profit waiting to happen. I am sure there are many Tour type buyers who have passed on the Rocket because it's a high powered Road King with less options available.

I love my Tiger 1050. I understand that a lot of folks (especially cruiser guys) don't warm up to the looks, but I like it. I will say this, however. Almost all that actually take the time to ride one come away with a positive impression. The only deal breaker for some is it's too tall (they can't reach the ground). I'm not real tall at 5'10", however, so I don't think it's that much of an issue for most.

I think the Tiger 1050 is a great looking bike. I have a friend that's about 5'6" and has no problem with his. It looks like Triumph is going in two directions with the platform instead of trying to hit something in the middle. While the 1050 could go off road, it seems more street oriented. With the Explorer (and the smaller Tigers) and the Trophy Triumph is taking direct aim at BMW and Yamaha.

I'm looking forward to tests pitting the Explorer against the GS and the Super Tenere as well as the Trophy against the K1600, FJR, and Concours. I'll take a look at both new Triumphs but for now I'd lean toward the Tiger 800XC.

Cruisers are fine but a bit boring to ride. The Rocket is an exception as the big motor demands your attention but when the road gets twisty a sportier platform is much more entertaining. And when the pavement ends, well, that's why I'm thinking Tiger XC.

I agree. The 1050 *can* be taken off road with a shoe change, but in reality it has more in common with sport touring bikes. I would never take mine off road, other than the 1/4 mile or so of dirt road to get to the cabin we stay at in Georgia. :D

The 800s are very nice bikes too. I've put quite a few miles on them (breaking them in for dealer and as an escort for demo days).
