Dealer reinstalled rediator cocked to right

I crashed my R3 a couple years ago. I fixed it up with new parts then noticed the crooked radiator. I just grabbed it and moved it straight. It flexes quite a bit in the mounts which bend easily. It has stayed straight even since with no problems.

    Spongy front brake lever

Mine feel spongy too, but I had no problem locking up the front tire on the Interstate highway yesterday from 90 MPH. The deer seem to be out everywhere this weekend, today too. I have new confidence in my R3 brakes even if they do feel a little spongy. I stopped right there, no problem. My...

Having an axe with the Wax

Try shoe polish to blacken the vinyl again. The easiest, laziest, fastest shine comes with Speed Shine from Griots Garage. No harmful side effects. Have not tried a repaint so it may contain silicone. www.griotsgarage.com

New Risers But Now No Clutch

I got it going again. I had to really put some elbow grease into getting the clutch lifter wound up. I took it for a ride and it is fine now.

New Risers But Now No Clutch

I installed Rivco risers today. It was a pain but I got all the cables rerouted behind the triple tree. The strange thing is that the clutch is screwed up now. The clutch lever is loose and floppy. The pivot on the side of the engine is easy to turn with fingers where as the tension was so stiff...

    Front tire scalloping

You got great service life out of your original tires. On my VTX's I had to replace the stock tires at 5,000 miles, cupped and bald they were. If I go 10,000 miles on a pair of tires I feel like I have gotten away with murder.

Running a Patched and Plugged TIRE?

I have been running a plugged tire, pulled out a nail, for several thousand miles and it does not concern me at all. I will get a new tire soon before any long trips.

    Ran out of gas today

I fill the tank up until the "sink strainer" is covered with gas. I have gone 180 miles between fill ups. I figure 200 miles is dead dry and will be time to start walking. I once ran out at a freeway exit with no gas station. There was a campground store so I bought a gallon of Coleman fuel...

    Getting cold

I like my 16x16 Windvests, I have them on two bikes, R3 and VTX. A friend has a Rifle solo shield which is very nice and costs half as much.

    Sears Bike Lift

My next bike lift trick to try is going to be this: Lift the bike, start it in gear and hold a steel wool pad soaked with aluminum polish against the rear wheel to polish the tarnished aluminum that will devlope over time. Does this work? It seems like it should. Just don't remove a hand in the...

    Sears Bike Lift

Does anyone use the $89 Sears bike lift on their Rocket? I am wondering if it works as well as it does on a VTX.

    Cleaning chemicals and the R3

That Honda polish is the best thing I have found for cleaning bugs and road grime off my jacket, gloves, boots and helmet, too! It is one stop shopping.
