  1. R3Touring Pics

Bingo !!!!!! This bike was already being drawn up 3 years ago When I was in Newnan for training on the Rocket. It was made to go after the Harley riders that want dependability, but the style of bike they are very accustomed to. Look at the style ques, and it should be evident. The bags are so...
  2. TRiumph Demo day 2-23-08 SW Florida

Hey, my shop is having it's anual Triumph Demo day. Last year we roasted two pigs, with all the fixins. It was a great day overall. More so being I get to work with the ride team and skate from wrenching for a good part of the day. It's a great way for you FL folks to beat the rush at bike week...
  3. Braking News

It says that about the brake pads because the R3, Sprint ST (normal or ABS), and Tiger 9 normal or ABS) all use the same exact pads.
  4. Just Venting

Having limited hands on with the tune boy, I didn't know you could us it to drive the stapper fully closed and open to make the adjustments. Thanks for the heads up. Much obliged.
  5. Just Venting

No, it's a bit more involved. I have a thread on it with some solid details. http://www.r3owners.net/showthread.php?t=2439 I haven't posted the actual bulletin because it's against Triumph dealer policy, and without the Triumph tool you cant drive the stepper to do the adjustments.
  6. oem headlight off switch

We pull the 20 amp fuse to save the battery while doing mapping. It kills the head lights, but the bike will not start without that fuse.
  7. oem headlight off switch

You can't get an on / off switch. The entire motorcycling world went to lights on at all times about a year ago, so the part numbers have been removed for the dealer parts listings.
  8. Low Fuel Light

I just replaced a sending unit last week. It looks like they are being calibrated better from the manufacturer. When the bike came in, the light was on, and when I was done, it wasn't. The bike had about 2 USG in the tank. Also, in my first post in this thread, I said it was 5 V at empty. It's...
  9. The latest fix for the poor idle / stalling

Has anybody gotten their letter from Triumph about the SB yet ? I figure they should be hitting some folks mailboxes as of now.
  10. The latest fix for the poor idle / stalling

Sorry to take so long to get back to ya. I wanted to wait till I did a few more bikes. I haven't had a single problem yet on any bikes I've done that didn't need the TBI's synced up. Six at this point. The one problem I had was on our demo bike, the only one that needed to be synced. After I...
  11. Just Venting

Britman, the service bulletan is # 386. The dealer has had to download tha latest service software fot their Triumph tool, version 2007_03 to take care of the recall. As for your Power commander, even if it connects to your o2 sensor, because it's a piggy back system, the stock ECU will...
  12. New goodies from Triumph

Hey folks, looks like Triumph is commin out with some new bolt on goodies for the Rockets. There not on triumphs site when I looked a few minutes ago, but I saw pics of some of the stuff this past week. They have a few new oil tank embelishers, cruising pegs to go with the dresser bars, and 3...
  13. Howdy..............

The last one I did, the only thing I changed was the sprocket, and key. The chain is tougher then you would think. The biggest peoblem is holding the cams. If you release the cam chain tensioner with out holding the cams, they jump timing, and can be a pain to set back up if you haven't done it...
  14. The latest fix for the poor idle / stalling

No, they were different. You'll never get them perfect, because there's too many other factors involved. I'm sure you could get them a bit closer, but remember, the ECU will compensate for up to 22.4%. If I hooked up the Triumph tool, I'd guess it would flash me the balanced signal.
  15. Howdy..............

OK, I'll address a few things here. First off, I am a certified Triumph tech, and have been with a Triumph dealer in the southern US for just under 3 years. I'll never claim to know it all, but if I don't know, I won't blow smoke up anybodies arse, and do my best to find out the answer. I have...
  16. The latest fix for the poor idle / stalling

Hey folks, I figured I would start from scratch on this subject. Admins, feel free to merge it with one of the other threads on the subject if you feel it's not a stand alone thread. So, I'm sure some here didn't see my note that Triumph has just come out with a completely new SB on the idle...
  17. No display for Triumph at the International Bike Show

Triumphs sales have gone up a good precentage for the past 4 or 5. More gaines in markets then many woul expect. While it would be nice for them to be at the show, is it really that important ? Remember the saying............ Go your own way :D
  18. Howdy..............

LOL, ya thank God I do all my own work. I couldn't aford me:eek: Hey, don't feel bad, I baught my doctor's wife her Jaguar with 4 shoulder surgries. What sucks about the 10K is that 9 out of 10 times the valves don't need to be adjusted, and it's a bunch of wasted time. The last training I did...
  19. Second Poor Idle Fix

I'd bring it right back to them to have it properly fixed. I haven't seen one NC on it, not that I'm saying you wrong. What I wanted to check, was if they gave a spec for inches of vaccum. They dont, which sucks. The Triumph tool measures in mm/ch, but will change display to "Balanced" when...
  20. Howdy..............

I know my speed was fairly accurate, being I was being paced by my friend on his K1200GT with GPS for just that reason. That's about as accurate as you can get. There isn't a stock spedo on a bike that not off a few tics. It's easy with the R3, the ECU limits it to 138 from what I was told by...
