    Effing brake line

Only in my case using vice grips destroyed the **** thing. I'm going to order some new lines for the back but I'm not finding my manual very helpful for taking the rest of the line apart. It all started because the front brake lines needed replacing and everything went beautifully until that one...

    Clutch Cable Length Pictures...Rivco

That bad eh? Well then I'll keep those for emergencies and buy from Barnett.

    Clutch Cable Length Pictures...Rivco

I did but couldn't be sure it pertained to my year, who knows if and when they change things. Anyways what I did was order a brake/clutch cable kit off Amazon for $34, I can cut to length so hopefully that solves it.

    Clutch Cable Length Pictures...Rivco

Does anyone know that stock clutch cable length for a 2012 R3 Touring? I'd like to find out without taking the existing one off. The manual doesn't give me any info other than how to change it. Thanks

    Rear Brake Assembly

I have the caliper off, bit of a struggle with the pipes being in the way but doable. I'm not a brake expert, yet!, but the first thing I noticed was one of the anti rattle springs is missing. Could this be why that piston sticks?

    Rear Brake Assembly

I can get a wrench in there but I'd like to be able to torque to spec when I put it back on, exhaust is in the way but I might just "eyeball" the torqueing later.

    Rear Brake Assembly

Hey, I'm about to take the rear caliper off so I can pull the pistons and polish them in the hopes of stopping the one that is sticking on me. Question is, according to the manual I need to lift and support the rear of the bike. How necessary is that part? Can I do it without lifting the bike...

Triumph Custom Leather Jacket - Thoughts?

The guy I bought my bike off last year was about 230 lbs and over six feet. He bought a jacket from Triumph in the UK and had it shipped, it was the wrong one so he got another shipped for the cost of shipping. Anyways, its a nice jacket but way too big for my 5'10" 180 lbs. Make me an offer on...

    Respectalble Dealer/Mechanic

Do you know a good place to buy parts in Canada?

    Respectalble Dealer/Mechanic

Hey, been reading a lot of posts about shady dealerships. Does anyone know of a respectable and knowledgeable dealer/mechanic in the Saskatchewan or Alberta area. I don't mind trailering my bike a good distance to have a couple of things I'd like done before I start riding this year. Valve...

    Risers

I'll live with if I have to, I don't like the flex, its like a lawn mower handle that is loose on top, you know how it can move a bit. I wonder if any of the other Riser users have this problem. There about as tight as I can get them without breaking the bolts.

    Risers

So I just installed my new Rivco risers, I love how the handle bars feel now. I didn't have to move any throttle cables but I did have to move the clutch cable as per instructions. One thing though, maybe I missed something but do you have a lot of play in your handlebars now? Seems like a big...

    Smell of burning rubber

That sounds reasonable enough to try. Will I have to bleed the line afterwards? I don't have a bleeding tool yet so what I've done is to depress the pistons with a screw driver, I can ride at least as long as I don't use the back brake. I figure when I get the bleeding tool and the Dealer Tool...

    Smell of burning rubber

Are there any instructions on rebuilding the caliper? I don't trust the manual anymore, I just changed the pads in less than 10 minutes per youtube video, pistons still sticking though so it looks like a rebuild or replace. They are ABS brakes so I know I'll have to buy the bleeding tool, this...

    Smell of burning rubber

So today I found out there are no bike mechanics in the little town where I'm working and living now so I guess I'll do this myself. Question though, the manual I have says to remove the wheel spindle nut and torque reaction bolt to get the caliper off, amongst other things like the retaining...

    Smell of burning rubber

Could be right? The liberal brakleening spray may correct this? Going to try it anyways, can't hurt. I figure as long as I don't go to far and over the rotor I should be okay to test ride it after trying to clean it.

    Smell of burning rubber

I thought of that, especially with the highway pegs but I'm satisfied it's not that. Thanks for the thought though h

    Smell of burning rubber

That's a great thought, plenty of brakleen I have so it's worth a try tomorrow.

    Smell of burning rubber

Well since I don't have the tools to do either job right now I'm going to drop it at the shop and see if I can't get them to at least do the piston part, supposedly only a ten minute job so ............hoping. After that I'll do what I have to make it right. e

    Smell of burning rubber

Excellent! I shouldn't have to bleed the brakes just doing the pistons correct?
