  1. For Sale wants to sell '05 R3

Hey Doc, are the pipes on it louder than the Jardines you gave me years ago? If they're not louder I'd be interested in them for my 2014 Rocket Roadster (sold the 2005 Rocket after 65,000 miles to get the Roadster with anti-lock brakes for when an old lady turns in front of me). Sorry to hear...
  2. The Tribal Fund from the old R3owners.com site has been donated to the Gary Sinise Foundation for helping Veterans, First Responders etc.

The TRIBAL FUND from the old R3owners.com site that was used to help downed or injured riders was donated on 11/30/2020 to the Gary Sinise Foundation charity for veterans (confirmation code 37456923). The fund had a balance of $4491.29 remaining so I donated $4500 + the service charges...
  3. Touring on a Roadster

Get some Leatherlyke bags and a T-bag (holds 2.5 cu.ft. of gear). Been all over the USA with my wife with this set up and a Corbin dual touring seat plus sissy bar and rack.
  4. Air filled seat cushions

Freedom Air makes a good cushion and the cells are different sizes (smaller under the ******) so your balls aren't forced up between your legs.

  6. Will my R3T leave a HD V-Rod Muscle in the dust?

The chart showing the V-Rod beating the Rocket was with a 2010 Rocket. Triumph eliminated the restrictions in the first 3 gears on Rockets around 2013 and I think the top end limiter as well. A post 2013 Roadster would smoke a V-Rod imo.
  7. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

    Thanks Breeze!
  8. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

Thanks Chris! Let me know how you like the Rocket and how its maiden camping trip goes. Is your Toyhauler a 5th wheel or a trailer?
  9. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

    Nice toys!
  10. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

Thanks for the info R3Tex. That's a monster toy hauler! What do you pull it with?
  11. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

Rebel has his flag on the back of his ride ;-)
  12. Lane Splitting

Been lane splitting in California for 40+ years with no problems. I try to do it under 40 mph though because above 30-40 mph gaps open in the traffic and cagers will start darting in and out without checking their mirrors. I also try not to go more than 10-15 mph faster than the cages when doing...
  13. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

Thanks for the advice guys...keep it coming. I like lots of input...especially before this kind of a purchase!
  14. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

****, R3Tex, that's some weight in the back! No problems with the floor or weight distribution? With only one Rocket in back would you still have it loaded sideways?
  15. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

He still lurks...sold his Rocket and has a Yamaha Tenere for distance and a Ducati Scrambler for twisties.
  16. Anyone haul a Rocket in a 5th wheel toy hauler?

Did a 21 day, 5,000 mile trip last summer throughout Utah, Arizona and Colorado. Ogre and the wives made a foursome and we hit 10+ National Parks including Bryce, Zion, Monument Valley, Pikes Peak, Colorado National Monument etc. Great trip, but made me realize that hauling the Roadster in a...
  17. Suspension upgrade question

Had the Progressive 440's on my '05 Rocket, but put the Wilbers front and back on my 2014 Roadster. Wilbers seem much better IMO.
  18. New R3 owner from Sactown

Welcome from Granite Bay, CA. Great bike you've got. I sold my '05 Rocket at 60,000 miles and got a 2014 Roadster, mainly for the ABS. Enjoy the beast!
  19. What Kind of Man/Woman Rides a Rocket?

Liz and her husband just rode cross country. They both have Rockets and she's only about 5'2". Handling a Rocket is as much about attitude as size ;-)
