    End of an Era

I get Cycle World emails and the Kawi was featured. Looks great. The friend who I rode to the Arctic Circle with in 2015 is now pretty broken down. It's difficult for him to even ride his R100 GS Adventure so he bought a new 650 Enfield. Pretty slick bike. He installed 1.5 inch risers and...

    End of an Era

It happens to all of us atomsplitter. With me it was about two years ago that my knees got so bad that my big bike riding days ended. I now have a BMW R1200C and recently acquired a nice 2002, low mileage, Harley Softail standard from good friend who bought it new. I dropped it within three...

Riding on coconut shells: Activated carbon inserts made from sawdust and coconut shells could transform your bike

Looks most promising. It would certainly make tuning one's suspension much easier. Gone, for the most part, would be pulling fork tubes apart to install various grades of springs, cartridges, fork oil experimentation, etc.

    **SOLD** Mirrors

A Rocket friend sent me a note and they are gone. I'm just glad that I can help a fellow Rocketeer.

    New Guy from South Dakota

Bad black to the bone and welcome to Rocket ownership and to the forum. I had to smile at your comment about British weather going with a Brit bike. We used to say that about the 50s-60s 650 Triumphs, several that I still have. They were made for, and like, the British weather. It seemed that...

    **SOLD** Mirrors

A few days ago I found my stock 07 Classic mirrors in the second floor of my shop. They are in very good to excellent and free to anyone who needs them. Just pay shipping. One is missing the black mounting screw. I am divesting myself of bike stuff and am surprised by how much unneeded...

    Rocket vs Thunderbird

This is the only running Triumph that I have remaining. I've got a couple of basket cases that I need to get to.

    Rocket vs Thunderbird

How things change. I no longer have any big bikes because of bad knees, one artificial one that still hurts all of the time and one 72 year old one. The the Nomad and the Touring gone, replaced by a couple of BMWs. I had an Indian Scout for about a year but I sold that to a friend. Very...

    Triple K&N Air Filters

Big time. I was going to give them to any forum member who wanted them but they are obviously for another bike, probably a three cylinder Japanese machine. Thanks much amigo.

    Triple K&N Air Filters

I was going through my vintage Triumph parts the other day and found three K&N air filters. I can't for the life of me recall where I got them but they are clean and appear unused. They might have been in a box of parts I bought from a local independent when he closed. The opening is just shy...

    Jack-Be-Quick Adapter

One of the Brit moderators on the "other", now defunct forum, suggested hanging something of the handlebars such as a piece of line, to remind the rider that the brackets are still installed. With the bolts instead of pins, it's not as big an issue since they won't fall off.

    Jack-Be-Quick Adapter

A friend and I installed a Jack-be-Quick rear bracket on my 09 Touring. Previous to that on my 2007 Classic Tourer, had a pair of "feet" with welded on pins that inserted through the lifting holes on either side of the engine, like in the photo mstraub72 posted. His is a single bar while I had...

    Front fork extensions

I get their email newsletter and they've come out with a vintage style off road tires which looks to be perfect for Brit Desert Sleds like my C model.

    Front fork extensions

And funny my old post should pop up. Vintage Triumph choppers are coming back and very popular. I have two to put together, a 57 flat tracker that I've previously mentioned and a 1958 TR6. I intend to build the 58 as a chopper. They also make great bobbers. Lowbrow Customs has quite a few...

Oil leak on the 2020 GT

Triumph appears to be dealing with this issue very poorly. A friend bought a new Ural sidecar rig and had an engine problem at 3k miles. Ural installed a brand new engine with the original serial numbers. The Russians are doing it right while Triumph is not.

    Prodigal son returns!

Welcome back Dave from a former Rocket x 2 owner. Both have passed from me, having outgrown me. The last one, a beautiful Touring is now in the possession of a close friend and riding buddy. I get to sit on it his garage whenever I get lonesome. My Army son has my 07 that I rode to the Lake...

    Considering a Triumph Tiger 800

I carry Slime and a portable MC air pump whenever I travel. There are some very nice ones out there in the $100 range but the little $25 pump by Slime has served me well many times. While I've used Slime when plugging a tubless tire, it was supposedly developed for tube tires. I've had a...

    Considering a Triumph Tiger 800

And this is the one. I'm a bit concerned about the 21 inch front tire, that is, how well it will do on paved roads. My VStrom has a 19inch front tire, which is not as competent off road but more so than the 21 on paved roads. The bigger issue is the spoked wheels and tube tires, unlike...
