  1. Need Help

Yankee, I have an 07 Classic with the same problem. You offered sending a pic of the solution. Would you mind posting it if the offer is still good?
  2. Rear Ended

Steve, sorry this happened...........and what timing, day before we hit Rolling Thunder. I imagine the bruises are hurting a bit more now that the adreneline is wearing off. Look forward to you getting that beautiful Classic back on the road so we can ride again! That is an interesting...
  3. Poor Gas Mileage...?

Hi, replying to Capt Bob re: bike config. Captain, I'm running 100% stock. It is a 2007 classic, so I do have a windscreen and bags. The bike has 5k on it now. I finshed the trip back from PA yesterday, and re-calculated the mgp. I was down to 37, though that's probably because I rode...
  4. Poor Gas Mileage...?

Another data point for y'all.......... I rode today from Washington DC to Penn State, about 4 hours. Some interstate, some hills, etc. I got 38mpg. I wasn't conservative, but didn't dog it either. Fuel light came on at 154 miles. Fueled up at 177 miles. Took 4.65 gallons. I was sweating...
  5. Poor Gas Mileage...?

I tracked mine the other day. I mixed some highway (70%) and local riding (30%), not too crazy on the throttle............some 90 to 100 mph passes here and there, and I got just a tad under 36. Just posting so you have a reference point. I have no mods, and a wind screen. I'm 230.
  6. Close call yesterday...

First, glad you're safe!! Second, I'm really impressed..........you were going 60 with 2 up and stopped in 15' while keeping it upside. Nice piece of work!
  7. Beyond Ridiculous

Whao, training wheels. You can't ride it in front of anyone!!!
  8. Looking to buy a R3T, few questions.

    Congrats!!!! You'll love it.
  9. Garage Makeover

Hey, have to agree ;-) Only thing nice in my garage is the 3 bikes and the sign ;-) Freakin' 25 now here in DC........thought the temps were going up so I could ride tomorrow. Ice still on the road.
  10. Garage Makeover

Ok, can't touch that garage! I did manage to get a nice epoxy floor. However, the cool thing I got from my family for Christmas is the sign in this pic (hope you can see it). I have 3 Brit bikes (you can see the R3 in the back) and Brit bikes only, thus the sign!
  11. JoseyR3Wales

One of my favorites, if I get it right.... "It's not for eatin', it's just for looking through." Who said that one? One of the best movies of all time, love the name change!
  12. New Rocket III Classic owner

Thanks BigDoug. I found out that the previous owner did change the pipes. I also found out from the dealer that this was ordered as a Classic from Triumph, but it came in with pegs and w/out the chrome on the engine. Nice axe by the way.
  13. New Rocket III Classic owner

Thanks guys! RE: R3T......it is a work of art....I looked at them hard, but ultimate wanted a "Sport Touring" if you can call the Classic that........something in between the made for kickass and speed R3 and the Touring. But agree, they shouldn't drop this paint scheme.........it's...
  14. New from NJ

Would love to see a pic! I grew up in Morris County....which town you in? I grew up in Denville, native from there.
  15. New Rocket III Classic owner

FYI, I'll contribute more than enthusiasm eventually, but rode around a bit today and it's 37F. Heated grips and a windshield really help ;-)
  16. New Rocket III Classic owner

Hey, thanks guys! Bottom line, I feel like a little kid on this thing, and it is the right bike for me!! And that 2 tone with gold stripe is just amazingly tasteful. Hope to ride with you guys one day!

BTW, some responses to some of the other comments: Jackson: You're right man, I can cook a steak on those grips! I have only thin gloves, so I enjoyed them in 40 degree weather at highway speeds. It was fine then. HD2Rocket3: Thanks for the emails, look forward to our first ride! OzzmanR3...
  18. New Rocket III Classic owner

Hi guys! Hey, I appreciate the feedback. Read through everything, and couple of bullets that might lead to what's going on: See the first pic.....it does have the Classic badges....I guess you can buy them and slap 'em on, but it seems right See second pick............sure enough, y'all...
  19. New Rocket III Classic owner

Thanks for the tip! I almost can't imagine more power, but once I get used to it, I'm sure I'll be wanting more. Ok, they must be Triumph heated grips....the switch is exactly as you describe. I had to pick it up at night and ride it through DC @ 40 degrees F........was awesome having...
  20. New Rocket III Classic owner

Thanks for the warm welcome! The purchase tapped me out, so no upgrades any time soon........that is till I start seeing what you guys have been up to and then have to do it ;-) Yes, it has foot pegs. Don't know why. Frankly, they are pretty darn comfortable, but I haven't tried...
