    Cam Cover Gasket

When mine started leaking at 12000klms, the dealer said try tightening the screws, and sure enough, some of the ones near the leak were only finger tight. That lasted a fair while until it began making a mess at a 110000klms. Not long after that I had the valves adjusted and had it done labor...

    Engine oil and filter

I like long rides out into the WA goldfields and beyond. I think it needs a 15/50 in hot weather.

    Changing out bars

Ive heard you can add about 2 inches to the height of the bars. Even the bars on the Touring have slightly longer cables to cope with the swept back angle. I saw someone on a rocket ride with stock cables on some aftermarket bars, they looked awful and looked too tight for comfort. And they...

Rocket III as a first bike?

Im a bit late to the party, but I rode a few big bore single cylinder offroad bikes before the Rocket. I even passed my big bike lic on the rocket. It scared the hell out of me for a while. After nearly 14 years, it no longer scares me. But I always respect it. I wouldn't recommend it as a 1st...

    Are Triumph Rockets reliable?

I have an 08 standard model dressed up as a Classic. So far 2 detent springs, a water pump, a radiator hose, fork seals, a fuse for the radiator fan. And that's it in 12 years and 105000klms

    Thunderbird

It was when it was new. It could beat the pants off any HD except for the Vrod. A 104 ci was a big twin engine. in its day. In Australia, HD dealers were no longer allowed to have a Triumph dealership on the same premises because the Thunderbird was gouging HD sales. I hope it comes back, I...

    Detent Spring R&R

My dealer charged me 2 hours labour for both detent springs I broke. I supposedly got an upgraded spring and that broke also. Too Fast on the downshift is my problem I think.

    New Thunderbird

Ive found they usually ignore me if Im on the R3. One dealer is ok, he says he will sell me a new HD one day. I say when its 150/150 HP and Torque at the back wheel and suits my long legs. Im not pay $3k for forward controls

    2020 Rocket3 0-60mph 2.7sec

I think this model is somewhat safer than the old model because it responds to cornering without the fight. Its just much more agile and the brakes are better.

I got to ride an R for an hour

1 hour is not long enough. But it gave me a taste. It was an R with the standard mid controls which was too cramped for me. The seat was also a bit small length wise. Im a long legged 6.2in But every thing else was great. The best 3 improvements over the old model is the steering, gear change...

    New Thunderbird

Is there any new or updated info on a new model T/bird? I heard something about the name and engine size had been re registered with some US dept which suggested another may be on the way. Im hoping it will be as eye catching as the new R3

    ...more on the 2020 models

I fist heard about it in 2016 from someone who got the info from a Scandinavian dealer. Then in 2107 my dealer went to a meeting and was told almost identical information November is the month I heard. They will probably get 1 -2 from the first shipment and allow them to be test bikes

    Triumph riders in WA 21/9/2019

Well thats too bad. I was hoping maybe you, Pedro and Keno351 might have seen it. But Im still a bit sick from the horrible flu I brought back from Vietnam last week, so I will make a decision sat morning. Many are camping up there and I think the local council are going to open up parks or...
