    Rocket 3 2005 Handlebar clock

I got the 2721, but Hella brand. It's actually a little loose, but not sure if that's the age of the rubber thingy it fits into. Replacing this has to be one of the more frustrating bike jobs I've done - you seem to need 3 hands with 6 fingers each to get the whole thing back together. Working...

    Rocket 3 2005 Handlebar clock

Thanks. I can't make out the writing, but somebody in the know may be able.... The clear bulb is one of my replacement attempts, it's only when you put 'em together you realisea how wrong.

    Rocket 3 2005 Handlebar clock

OK - it's a blown bulb, easy, but.... does anybody know the part number/type of bulb? I've ordered 2 lots from the long river company which looked they should fit, but nada. Can't find the part number anywhere.....

    Rocket 3 2005 Handlebar clock

Thanks, that makes sense. Now I just have to figure out what's wrong with mine.

    Rocket 3 2005 Handlebar clock

I have the same, Triumph accessory? Question - does yours have a backlight/illuminated? Mine doesn't, so can't see the face at night, before I take it apart to see, it would be good to know if this is design.....

    2012 Roadster Handling

Errr, thanks matjas, but can I suggest you read the whole thread before replying? Although I'm embarrassed to admit it, the problem was the tyre pressures being way off. Regarding the Wheel offset Atomsplitter is correct - a quick search gives this for the RIII. Although I don't think offset...

    2012 Roadster Handling

SOLVED! But I feel like a proper dweeb! Just on an impulse I decided to top up the tyres while filling up at the local petrol station. Imagine my surprise when their gauge showed 20/22 psi front/rear. Got home and checked using my own (Amazon bought) electronic gauge, which still showed...

Now that scares the crap out of me, all that ice not in my glass, not surprised you need an extra wheel!

You guys never did jungly type stuff. Mind you, tankys always had working BV'S....... "Any fool can rough it" is the main transferable skill I brought to civvy street.

    2012 Roadster Handling

I'm a Jock, but my last 2 tours were Belize (2 years) and Brunei (4 years). Since I demobbed I've spent my entire life between Florida and UAE. After more than 20 years living in warm places, there's NO WAY I'm going back to wet & cold - blood's way too thin for that kinda nonsense.

    2012 Roadster Handling

TBH I don't ride that aggressively these days, all I need is predictable neutral handling, but I will be asking for advice when I come to change these tyres. Probably opening a whole new can of worms.........

    2012 Roadster Handling

Always seems odd - winter is in-season here. :) I ride all year round, but most park their bikes up in the summer. I also don't have a workshop, so anything I do is outside in the heat and for obvious reasons I don't faff around with anything requiring cleanliness, precision or vital...

    The Manual - Corrections/Omissions

Possibly trivial, but every version of the manual I've seen for Rocket 111, Classic and Roadster shows the front fork axle pinch bolts on the left fork (page 13.3 in the manual I'm looking at now, possibly different in earlier versions). They're actually on the right fork.

Service Manuals and helpful tips 2025-10-19

This is a link from user IDK. I messaged him to ask if he was happy with me doing this, but he hasn't posted on the site since 2022 (hope he's OK, I don't know him). If anybody sees anything wrong with this, or thinks I'm doing something wrong or against his wishes, let me know and I'll take...

    2012 Roadster Handling

It probably is a Harley set. The bolts holding them needed a 19mm metric socket - the problem was there was not enough room between the bolt head and other "stuff" to get the socket around the bolt. I had to get my pipe wrench on the riser itself to get the whole thing spinning, then jam my...

    2012 Roadster Handling

OK, I finally got the 3" risers off. It took the full lexicon of English curse words, plus a selection of German and Creole. The pics below show what these "technicians" from the local shop managed; I had to use my pipe wrench to gat the b$%tards moving, no way a 19mm socket/spanner or...

    2012 Roadster Handling

Actually, I think it's only the earlier bikes that had it. I think I saw a difference in the manual from certain VINs onwards. The buffoons who fitted these risers had to use the original top clamps 'cos of the clock fitting, looks crap. Hit a bump refitting the originals, missing a single...

    2012 Roadster Handling

One of the reasons I'm changing mine too, at full right lock I noticed the brake line stretching tight across the plastic thingy behind the headstock. Another benefit of using local workshops...... Plus the way it's mounted blocks lifting the tank. I saw the clock tilting somewhere else too...
