Clean your bobbins!! (Front brake retainer servicing...)

G'day all, quick recap - bought a wrecked '07 Riii, rebuilt and now riding regularly) Took the Riii out on a back roads ride a week or two ago - lots of corners and sweeps - very nice - and my brake lever was pulsing like crazy, yep, definitely warped disks . . i had suspected, but . . not...

Front Disk Rotors . . . all the same?

G'day guys, front rotos have a bit of a wobble - pulsing on the front brake - has been there since I got it. Bike is a 2007/8 Riii Touring edition. Do all the models share the same front rotors? I'll be taking them off and to a local machine shop to skim, but in case they cant (Floating...

I got plates! - resurrected wreck!

Finally got out for a decent ride - about 250 klm.... About halfway home it all solidified in my brain . . I've been trying to describe the first ride of a Rocket iii . . . . this is what I came up with. "She's built like a steakhouse, but she handles like a bistro!" - Zapp Brannigan, Futurama.

I got plates! - resurrected wreck!

Basically any registered vehicle in NSW needs CTP insurance. Even club, veteran and vintage ones! The rocket is expensive because for bikes it’s based in ccs. , my America is about $200 for ctp. You can get cheaper if it’s a club vehicle, as most clubs do deals with insurance companies. That...

I got plates! - resurrected wreck!

Ha, Australia - average price for an Riii here is about $8-12k for that age. That's not 'comprehensive' insurance, that's just Third party - it's a compulsory thing here in NSW, unfortunately, but also, it's a good thing - I was once hit by someone as part of an accident (I was the third part)...

I got plates! - resurrected wreck!

Not a problem . . picked up the bike for just over $3k, then parts probably another $1500, and then a few weeks work of an evening. Green slip (Compulsory third part insurance) was $630 - which is wild - my modified Mk5 GTi is $380 a year! and registration was around $250. So all in all, I'm on...

I got plates! - resurrected wreck!

G'day all, you may recall that I bought a bit of a wreck a few months back - '07 Touring edition with serious front end damage. Today it went for it's registration inspection (NSW, Australia) and passed with zero comments or issues! Went for a little run of about 50 klms and now I think I...

Driveshaft Lube . . near miss....

G'day all, so glad i read a bunch of threads this week, and made myself good and paranoid. I changed the final drive oil and it was quite dark, and VERY smelly, so it started me thinking about what other maintenance items might have been missed (Not the engine - the servicing seems to be...

    Recommend me a tune?

G'day all, trying to work out which tune is best for my bike. 2008 'Touring' edition TOR pipes K&N underseat filter. 98 Octane pump fuel is available, and what I'll prefer to fill with. From what I can see, the 20368 tune is about right, but wanting to be sure.

First ride of the repaired wreck - Woo!

Video of the first road test after a major rebuild! G'day all, a quick reminder - picked up this '07/8 Touring Edition locally from a guy who buys wrecks at the auctions, had been 'slightly bent' in all the wrong places, but I could see some potential in there. Well, I Finished putting parts...

Just got Lucky (With TORS, don't be dirty..)

Hooked up my Laptop with TuneECU (No android device yet...) to check the cooling fan was plugged in correctly and working (it was) And noticed the map that was loaded . . . 20368 - which is apparently "Use with aftermarket silencers. Fuel up to E25. Minimum 91 RON (87 RON/MON) fuel...

G'day Day from Australia - Ressurecting a wreck!

Nearly there.... Today's parts - new tyre (Bridgestone Excedra 150/80/16) Radiator - I ordered black, but they sent silver . . . guess it's getting painted black one of these days . . . . Off for another road test tomorrow, then book in for Blue Slip (NSW 'first registration' - annual...
