    Removing cylinder head

Nope, I used new head bolts and tightened them as per the manual.

    Removing cylinder head

Just to be clear: I didn't remove the liners and reseal them.

    Removing cylinder head

Ooops, sorry -- looks like I didn't post the final update in spring... I replaced the chain, the tensioner and blades, as well as the bent ex valves.

    Removing cylinder head

I didn't do that. Nope, not really. But I suspect that the chain tensioner failed to do its job properly.

    Removing cylinder head

Also, what made us cringe, the cam chain bends crazy, like 10cm, to the side... is this expected?

    Removing cylinder head

Okay, here's the current state of affairs: each exhaust valve bent, tiny scratches on the pistons, cylinders like new. Chain blades okay, tensioner okay (1/2 engaged), sprockets okay, crank sprocket key okay (it's huge actually). But there's uncertainty about the chain: it measures 5mm short of...

    Removing cylinder head

    Removing cylinder head

    Removing cylinder head

Do the cams also have to be removed if the engine will be detached from the frame? Everything else sounds kinda reasonable -- except, the oil tank? Really?

    Removing cylinder head

Hey there! Is it possible to remove the cylinder head with the camshafts still attached while the engine is still in the bike? Or asked differently: What MUST be removed from the bike/engine to lift the head? Thanks in advance!
