    I just did this mod. not hard at all and i was able to easily fit the filters under the bearclaw - just turn them all to the 2 o'clock position.

    I tried to ground the barrel of the bulb to the frame of the bike, no difference. I think it definitely has to do with the rear pedal. I must've threw it out of whack trying to adjust the pedal height and now the switch that picks up that signal thinks the brake is depressed all the time.

    Yeah, you're telling me. It was scary too because the noise and the smell made it seem like the engine was about to blow up. It wasn't an obvious rattling sound and seemed to be coming from inside the engine. I was freaked.

    Red loctite. It probably won't help, I just put it on there because. Hopefully it backed out due to the presence of the rubber washer and will be good now that it's gone.

    reseating the bulb seemed to solve the issue. The bulb only goes in one way. I never had any of the built in wiring loose or anything, only unplugged and re-ran the harness and cable when I put in my rivco plate relocator. anyway - thanks for the replies, seems to be working now.

    I pulled the bulb again and reseated it - seems to be better now for some reason. I"m not sure what you guys mean by grounding wire. The wire for the ground goes through the sheath to the harness, just like the pos/neg wire. No visible damage that I can see along the wire. I'll check it...

    I pulled it apart and can't see anything obviously wrong with it. One thing I noticed is that the bulb has two filaments in it. They are both lit when the brake is not depressed. Upon depressing the brake, one of them goes a little bit brighter, but not by much. I guess I'll try a different bulb.

    I've noticed some discolored spots which I thought looked odd - figured it was something the dealer used to clean them with before I picked it up. It hasnt gotten any worse and isnt bad enough for me to complain about it yet. But peeling? thank goodness no.
