Hi guys, sorry if I've missed it. I searched. I see similar tunes, using 3 K&N's, mid pipe not mentioned. I had messaged HansO, but I understand he's been sidelined with some medical issues, I don't want to pester. I'm headed to Daytona in a week and a half, and need to get this sorted. Plat mid...
All the gear. 46 years I've been fortunate... T-shirt on hot days years ago (we didn't have mesh) but now I wear the gear. Mesh in the summer is COOLER than bare skin/t-shirt, etc.... Now I wear Motoport USA | Custom Motorcycle Apparel Kevlar mesh in warm Southern heat and Custom and Standard...
It's the over fueling. The "tune" makes it rich... like 90% of the Hardley's on the road, and, the cat removed, makes it mimic a Briggs & Stratton with the choke left on after starting, makes your eyes water. Just a guess... how close did I come?
Yup, the next step. Tuneboy on my Tiger 1050 rocks, breathing through the Scorpion can creates the sweetest siren song when it's pulling hard. I'm sure the Rocket will respond well and bellow accordingly.
4 hours with Mothers Mag got the rear & front wheel looking respectable again. TORS pipes on hand, and the David Platt mid pipe to be bolted on this weekend.

Riding (especially with a loved one) with a flaked transmission was foolish. Stuff like that can and has LOCKED UP :eek:while underway. Inconvenient in a car/truck, can be deadly on a bike. Glad you, your wife and your checkbook came away unscathed.
Smoking the tire while carrying the front wheel is the best... Borris Murray's image captures it.
T.C. Christenson on the "Hogslayer" twin engine Norton was another one I liked.
Yeah, The old fashioned spaghetti forks vs USD is a big compromise. Victory made a commitment to use USD on their big cruisers, and they feel GOOD.
That said, "a good craftsman never blames his tools"....
For instance, my 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050 has many aftermarket suspension upgrades...
...and I have a motorcycle addiction.
Since I first rode the (modern) Rocket in 2005, I've admired them from afar. In '07 I bought a Yamaha Royal Star Tour DeLuxe, because it had hard bags, air suspension & cruise control standard. I've tolerated the weak engine. But no more. 2014 R3T came my...
