METZELER Cruisetec - Never Again!

Hello,
All interesting replies, and I enjoy everything I read.
Here in Arizona, I must really ride spirited…...
With a road surface temp north 140degF during the summer. I run 38-psi front and rear (cold).
I replace the rears every 3000mi & the fronts every 4000mi. I monitor tire wear and tire pressures, and I have not experienced any cupping or irregular tire wear.
As soon as they start to slip under heavy throttle, I start looking for new tires. I replace tires sooner than later because I need all the help I can get.
The only time I have lowered the rear tire pressures down to 30psi (hot) was on track days at the strip.
There's no other Motorcycle that I have owned that adjusts my attitude like the Triumph Rocket 3R, and I have built some pretty quick Milwaukee V-twins.
I'll be installing the Metzler Cruisetec front and rears this month and I hope they will be as sticky as the Avons.
I believe the recommended manufacture tire pressures are for corning traction and sidewall stability.

Good post! Loved my Cobras when I could get them, but I ate them up. The Tecs feel more “reasonable” and will do 85-90% of the Avons. I work them and they do just fine. Better than I can ride

I can get tje Dunlop Elite 4 in the correct size for the front but don't know anything about those.
I have run them a couple of times in combination with the Bridgestone 245/55 on the rear and found them good, currently on a set of Cobras as the Brigies were unavailably

I have alwaya ran my tires at max presure. My rear tire was down 5 lbs and I could tell the difference. I prefer them to be at 42 both front and back. I'm also on the heavier two up weight rating so that could be why I prefer a more aired up tire. So far I have 4,700 miles on my cruiztechs and they still look great.

The thing with Metzelers is I find they like to run with more pressure. I always run them 40 - 42 PSI and I don't have problems with them. Run them at say 35 PSI and I find they scallop.
While me and the Long haired RSM were obtaining some bits for my A65, we came across a young lad on a Evo Sportser who has Tourtec fitted. His back tyre was well bast its sell by date. Worn bald over 2/3s width of the tyre.
It seems he and his lass on her bike, had just done a month, touring Portugal. He had all the camping equipment on his bike and hadn’t increased his back tyre pressures. 4,000 mile and it was truly mullered! I’ve done 3,000miles with my Tourtec on my Classic and it’s nowhere nearly as bad as his! 42 on my own, 44 when “Her in doors” is on the back.
