    Here you can see why they call it a T plane crank, this is looking at the end of the crankshaft. In the right orientation it looks like a T. The standard symmetrical crank pin view is on the left with the 120 degrees between the crank pins. I3 is inline 3.

    I got 5 years out of my stock battery before I had to replace it just this year. You might have got a bum one. I did try Lithium on another bike and it died after about a year. The biggest issue is making sure you get a high quality one that will last.
