    Looking for Triumph Pannier

FWIW, i rode unknown # of miles to destination with one bag, and 97mi back home with one bag (maybe 3-5lb contents added), and while the thought crossed my mind i truly could not tell. This was mostly freeway, some frontage and town riding. Don’t think there’s a need to worry.

    Looking for Triumph Pannier

Yes. That’s what has me rather mad. I deliberately use the key so it’s seated without resistance, because it is stiff to press on directly; AND give it a tug afterward, soley because it doesn’t click audibly, nor feel that robust. Kind of a “throw up your hands, wtf,” experience. Being...

    Looking for Triumph Pannier

You have to be kidding me…! Tonight on errand 90mi away, I lost MY right-side pannier! Am still hot. I double check when mounting them; just careful. But the sucker departed…. Well, good luck! Calling dealer in AM.

    Tapping switches power source

Super. Thank you for the guidance. Will look for that connector.

    Tapping switches power source

Thinking of installing a fuse block, such as the Denali powerblock2, or similar (open to suggestions). As the unit needs to tap a switched power source to relay/coordinate same to accessories powered off the block, what/where would you recommend tapping into from your experience? Any tips on...

Now owing Rocket 3, how do you tolerate other bikes? What would your next bike be?

2023 R3 GT. Only my second MC; what a beautifully performing beast. Perfect for our rural country roads and interstate (big western state). With decent technique, amazing how well the big bike handles. Have/love my ‘23 Bonneville Bobber, but going to sell and replace with either/both a...

Flat head screw on radiator cap

My screw was buggered/bent upon receipt. The soft metal (was it phillips? I forget) stripped out next, trying to remove it. Using a needle-nose, turned the mangled screw out. Took cap to a machine shop, retapped hole to one size larger (think was 6-40 or some such), into which put a stainless...

My attempt to make the GT an actual GT

Exactly. Anyway, to each his own. But if i wanted a tourer, i’d buy one of them, too. May happen. My rocket gt is what it is, a big fricken power cruiser that by virtue of it’s easy drivability, i can take on regional trips, little panniers and all. Just personal, but i think bikes loaded up...

    Researching a Rocket 3 purchase

As to the Mrs., i learned this the hard way: If she says she’ll never ride on the back of a potential bike purchase, her first question when you bring the new R home will be, “But where do i sit?” You know better. As to the rest, personal preference. Am 5’8”, long arms, and find the GT bars...

What do you think about the riding modes? Do you find them useful?

Using the rain mode while get used to new bike (NOS ‘23 red/chrome). Though have related experience, have only two years of real/owner MC experience (‘23 Triumph Bobber). Using the rain mode has made this big bike an easy transition. Maybe after get first 600mi in, will go “Road”. Have preset...

    Heat Shielding Experiment

What kind of cement worked for you, Tal? Kicked this idea around, too.

    Heat Shielding Experiment

Funny, been pondering having a seamstress do the same to my pants, maybe sandwich some thin woven glass or somesuch. If make it bilateral, might even look fine (if technical). “Rocket pants.” Small market, but may be on to something!

DIY Side Mount Plate From Two Cheap Kits

Thanks, gentlemen, for the ideas. Been puzzling over how to make (or where to buy) a clean, factory-looking, curved side plate and believe you’ve done it. Project for next winter, in the queue…. Do appreciate the many efforts made on relocating the rear turn signals, but the optimal (clean)...

    Pannier mounting hardware - black?

Did same this winter. Indistinguishable from the factory black finish (my GT pillion backrest hardware is factory black.) Have used cerakote a lot on bobber parts and now the rocket. The big upside is not only durability, but it’s thickness is negligible, so doesn’t affect fitment as sometimes...
