    Realistic Fuel Mileage?

    2023 GT. At 16,700mi, rural west, running avg on computer is 38.1mpg. About 41-42mpg cruising at 80mph. City, no idea…. Dash usually says 170mi +/- 10 range with a full tank. There are certainly stretches were can go 100mi+ without a gas station, so only on oft traveled routes do i go below 1/2...

    Am 5’8” and the clear medium powerbronze screen is really effective, a bit adjustable too, without looking silly/large. IMO.

    Cool. Like everything bike - it’s personal. Panniers an issue for me here, *BUT* to judge by the few sound profiles have heard online, really, really like the sound. Would sure like to hear one in person. Idle and WOT. Clip a video some time, please!

    Granted I didn’t do it personally. But. When i lost/replaced a panier/new mismatched lockset, my dealer svc desk guy showed me that the cyclinder is a simple deal, which he disassembled on the desk, re-arranged the dogs, and voila’, it was matched to my original key. Might be worth inquiring...

    Exhaust options

    Spend fair bit of time with a Werkes + db killers under me while cruising at 80mph. Big triple sounds like a cross between a swarm of angry bees and the crackling roar of a space rocket aflight. Such a huge engine, I’d like the exhaust pitch a bit lower, if could. Still, I find it charming.

    Wunderkind Turn Signal Instalation

    Same. Prefer the curved side-plate look, BUT, yet to find a factory/clean-looking aftermarket turn signal solution that is viable with the pannier bags mounted. For now, swapped in the motoism lights in factory locations (similar to the wunderkinds).

    Always wanted to try a sidecar. But on the Rocket… imagining the terror any passenger of mine might experience. Even the dog. Don’t think I’ve the restraint necessary? Hm. A Bonnie may be wiser choice, here.

    Been there. An expensive and protracted season-long been there. I like the seat overall. It’s still not what I ordered, reflected plainly on the receipt, but it’s close. Believe four returns to make “right”? Customer service management was atrocious.

    Thanks, Journeyman and all who contributed - post proved really helpful. Pulled the driveshaft over weekend, 11.6k mi, both ends dry as a bone. Used the 65% moly Loctite paste. 3 of 4 studs backed out. Had fresh new studs on hand and used orange permatex on the coarse ends, blue on fine ends...

    Don’t know for certain. Shop said “has to be replaced,” and they covered it, so was a minor inconvenience and no big decision. On the one hand, it’s just a dust boot. On the other hand, it’s the piston actuating your motorcycle’s clutch. I’ve no idea how long it would take...

    11.6k mi on it last season; first year on it. No “problems”. At season’s end service, dealer noted a soft rubber seal around the clutch switch’s plunger got a pinhole in it - no idea - dealer was good about resolving it. Stuff happens. Otherwise, I keep fresh final drive and engine oil in it...

    Rocket 3 GT exhausts.

    I put the dB killers in. It’s a mild difference, at least from pov as rider. Just about right, loud but not obnoxious. The setup quiets down more from just settling in, a few re-tightening’s, and sealing up, compared to fresh setup was a bit raspy and loud. Sounds great now.

    2 tire options, which one

    Supra, I would feel a little squiggle when leaned past the snakeheads and into the dots, which served as a “reminder” but never felt was in danger. The excedra rear lays over much more willingly, feels a bit grippier if a tad softer. Really a shot in the arm handling-wise, overall.

    Ty, Have come to appreciate the bag a lot. Quite handy. It does rub a bit on the fender, over the course of a season leaving some scuff marks. A negative, but, suppose any other bag so designed would do the same? Straps down tight and handily/tidy; has been at “very illegal” speeds often enough...
