    Replacing Coolant Temp sensor

Thanks Wayne, I really appreciate the conversation today. Your idea about air in the cooling system was dead on! A week of troubleshooting was solved with a few cups of distilled water. When I require service in the future you can be sure I will head down to Alabaster, AL to see you. I owe you a...

    Replacing Coolant Temp sensor

Has anyone done this? It appears as though I have to remove the throttle bodies and oil tank to do this. Is there anything specific I need to know outside what the service manual states? It sdoes not explain how to do this but it seems obvious that the oil tank has to be removed, which seems to...

    radiator cooling fan

I think I've got this now. I compared the fan relay to the other relays and it seem as though the contact is a bit charred. Does it strike you as odd that a mechanical incompetent like me solved this with the help of this thread but the Triumph dealership couldn't?

    radiator cooling fan

Thank you. So would the next obvious step be to replace the relay and see if that fixes it? Basic problem is that the fan is not coming on. I think I know the answer to this but there is no role in the thermostat with this described problem right? Also, I've since figured out that the other...

    radiator cooling fan

Hello, I think I'm dealing with the same issue. Here a photos of what I found when I took off the left panel. Apparently the rubber piece that mounts the relays to the bike gave way a long time ago. So two questions. In the image with the relays, what is the spare empty connector? Also in the...

    Ant invasion!!!

A few months ago squirrels ate the wiring harness out of my Honda Ridgeline. After I had it repaired the mechanic handed me the section he replaced. It had clearly been eaten by the squirrels....including the special tape that all of the wire was wrapped in that had graphics of a rodent with a...

    Ant invasion!!!

Thanks all, the ECU seems ok, I pulled the panel and checked it out. Not sure what the issues is. I guess I'll have to haul it in to have them check the code. It runs fine, but the light are telling me otherwise. But man...there are thousands of them....

    Ant invasion!!!

Hey folks, I'm net to this forum but was a member of the R3owners.com site for a long time. I hadn't logging in for a long time and realized that it was no more. So I will pose my question you you. My bike had been parked and covered for 2 months. Today I uncovered it to see that it was...

    Fried headlight pigtail

Except for the ignition switch electronic failure 1000 miles ago.

    Fried headlight pigtail

This was a shop diagnosis, the wired it so I have low beams in the meantime until my switch arrives. The switch was removed when I picked it up so I am unable to verify. In addition to that i do trust this particular shop.

    Fried headlight pigtail

Turns out the actual switch on the left handlebar is fried too. Gotta order the entire assembly. $124.00

    Fried headlight pigtail

I've got the kit...I'll be installing it when I get this repaired. It looks like a long rainy rider from Phoenix got the connections wet and they corroded.

    Fried headlight pigtail

This morning on the way to work i noticed I had no headlights. Upon inspection I found that the pigtail that plugs into my right headlight was melted. One of the wires was corroded at the pigtail and crusted in green. Is it safe to assume that the connector failed and melted due to corrosion so...

*on the road* "Popping on Decelleration"

Back to higher altitude and cooler temps with a new tank of gas....things seem just fine now. (was 107 in Phoenix)

*on the road* "Popping on Decelleration"

So is it safe to assume I can drive 430 miles home before doing this without doing any harm? I'm not really going to have a chance before we have to leave. Thanks for the info guys!
