    I pushed the new seal all the way in past the scratches, the existing wasn't, and we'll see if it stays there or migrates outward.     The inside snap ring wasn't touched, the grease on it makes it look weird.

    So being an idiot I tried prying the oil seal out with a pick not realizing that I could just pull out the bearing sleeve first and left some scratches on the inside surface as shown below. I'll look at it again next time I change my tire and hopefully it won't cause a $800 problem.

    I had the same issue and replaced the o-rings in the gear position sensor, it's easy so the dealer shouldn't charge you more than the minimum. As stated above there is lots of information on that here.

    Dire warnings have been written about resetting adaptations which I did not do when I flashed mine. This is interesting though since you did the reset and all seems well so far.
