    Torque Limits

The Android version of Tune ECU for the 2.5l Rocket3 now has access to "Torque Limit" tables. In fact they don´t limit torque in any relevant way. They are just meant to keep you from doing really mad stuff.

Just load the free tune. When that is done, turn the ignition off for 10 seconds and you are ready to go. No resets or other fancy stuff. Just ride. (Okay, erasing the speed limiter is no issue.) Your Rocket has learned quite a lot of useful data before that. Don´t do the 12min reset. It will...

    Thank You Mr. Penner

Loss from rear wheel to crankshaft is much smaller than expected. And it can be measured with a dyno. At the end of the run you pull the clutch. Now the reel is decelerated by the friction from the rear wheel the drive shaft and the transmission up to the clutch. . This loss is measured by the...

    Thank You Mr. Penner

I agree. The real intake restriction is hardly ever the filter. It is a nice to have, but don´t expect any gains worth to mention with just a filter change.

Free unrestricted maps for Rocket R GT and TFC now online

Ah sorry, now I got you. Yes, when the ECU is first programmed, calculated values are used for the fuel injection. The amount of air in the cylinder is determined, and then the fuel quantity is calculated according to the desired AFR value. That’s enough to get the engine running reasonably...

Free unrestricted maps for Rocket R GT and TFC now online

Maybe we have a misuderstanding. The value in the AFR-map even in the closed loop area is not part of the fuel calculation. There is no 10% increase in fuel if you change target from 14.5 to 13.1. That is different from the Delphi ECU where AFR tables are part of the calculation even outside of...

Yes. Just changing fuel tables with an active O2 sensor and AFR-tables left at 14.5 will definitly be overrun by the ECU. First by the short term fuel trims temporarily and then by the long term trims finally. You have to disconnect the O2 sensor or change the AFR-target to prevent that. Fueling...

You´ve got me with your last question. I always wanted to check on that. My understanding so far is, that anything but 14.5 in the afr-tables means the ECU quits adjusting. But I have heard that it works up to 14.1. The main difference between the Harley/Delphi and the similar Indian/Bosch to...

    Problems after tuning or coincidence?

No. Unless you put in another camshaft, tuning does not cause any trouble to the tensioner.

I have a Storm '25 model and ordered BT Moto ECU read/write gadget

I am not involved in the development of the tools. And I think it is very unlikely that Alain will come up with Tune-ECU for the newer models. Since Triumph does it all online the game has changed. But BT-Moto still does the job. In the long run an aftermarket ECU will probably be the only way...

Sounds loke they did a good job. The lower the revs and the throttle opening, the more the lean stock 14.5 afr becomes an issue. A decent map is not just about wot.

    Eka's Pretty TuneEcu Maps

It is two spark plugs per cylinder and low revs. These are some dyno runs with the 2.3 Rocket with different ignition advance. (Torque in Nm) ("Zündung Grad vor OT" is ignition degrees BTDC) There is no need for big advance numbers. It just puts stress on the engine. But I agree that at lower...

Decat Pipe. Do I need a tune?

The unrestricted map will work with the decat. It will probably run too rich in the low revs. But that won´t do any harm. Mid and high range will be good. As the O2 sensor is mostly deactivated to not interfere with the improvements, it will not be able to make any adjustments.
