  1. LED taillights/brake light

ball bearings :D +1 Agreed, a friend who rides a FatBoy, caries 3 links in a piece of 3/8 inch chain to get their attention.
  2. LED taillights/brake light

light... study Flip, Kinda off the thread's subject, but you stated of not having seen a study on lights. About 25 years ago in Lufkin, Texas, at a BMW rally, I attended a MSF classroom study. The teacher brought up a study I can't find on the web, nor will MSF answer my emails questioning...
  3. Issue with Progressive 440's

shock blowout on sidestand side Speedbike, Forgive me for being so dumb. I just thought what happened to one shock on either side would be duplicated on the other shock. The swing arm swings parallel to the frame, right? So in my dim mind what happens to one shock happens to the other shock...
  4. Issue with Progressive 440's

shock blowout on sidestand side Speedbike, Think about it! With the bike on the sidestand BOTH shocks are canted over at the IDENTICAL angle off of perpendicular. Thus, why would it matter if the shock was mounted on the side stand side or opposite side stand side?
  5. Issue with Progressive 440's

side stand parking? I'm with flip on this.... Answer one question: how come I've never heard of this with the stock shocks? (Or any other brand for that matter) Or IMO, you've just been fed a bunch of smoke and mirrors, better known as BS.
  6. Have a PC Christmas!!!!!

My PC Christmas haha, Good one, but MERRY CHRISTmas, everyone!
  7. TomTom Rider bracket

mounting a gps FWIW: I couldn't afford Garmin's handle bar bracket and if I could have, it didn't have enough adjustment. I went to Jim's Cycle (in Axtel, TX) and the parts man sold me on the idea of using a universal mirror assembly. Just turn the mirror up and paste the base on the face of...
  8. Triumph Rocket Insurance

My bike insurance cost FWIW: Progressive takes $36 out of our checking account each month. It covers 1) full coverage with $200 deductible on all three bikes, 2) uninsured motorist, 3) covers an '05 r3, an '06 Honda spirit, and a '98 Sprint Executive ( NOTE: Dairyland called the Sprint a...
  9. Metzler rear tires

Tire pressure Gunshots, I'm running 40 in the front metz, and 37 in the rear Hydro edge. My front is new having been put on about 1K before the Hydro edge and shows no abnormal wear whatsoever. :D PS: And thanks for the support. So many have been against this to the point it seems if they...
  10. Metzler rear tires

Met on front, Flip Havn't changed the front nor will I... It gets 14K, not too bad. And since I'm leaning the same on the same corners, the wear seems to be progressing normally on the front. Thanks for asking.
  11. Metzler rear tires

Summation of going to the "dark side" FYI: (A long read, sorry, just trying to cover all issues). I bought a '05 Triumph Rocket III a little over two years ago and was appalled at the cost of keeping tires on the bike, (changed every 5-6K at a cost of $300+). This began a web search of...
  12. Dealers and their service

FWIW I broke down in Mena, Ark. last week and had to haul the bike, (an '05 r3 with 22K on the clock), to the dealer in Waco where I bought it. The bike was two years and one month old at the time of its breakdown so technically it was out of warranty. I figgured to have a bill presented...

I figgured to have a bill...
  14. Darkside update

gravel & car tire = bad handling Hey wilber-t, I had just put on my Mich 235/60r16 and had about 100 miles on it when a biker friend past away because of cancer. The funeral procession was at his church on a freshly graveled parking lot. It was about 4 inches deep with pea sized gravel. Other...
