Hi Jester. I was advised to contact you concerning floorboard mods. I have to do something about mine. At 6'5"/280 my R3T seems rather small. I must relocate those floor boards and would like to hear any advice when you have time. Thanks, Tom

The foot controls are actually pretty easy to move. For a 2" relocation, it's really simple to cut out the whole floorboard assembly, cut out the section of tube ahead of it, and reweld it. The two sections can be butt welded but I had access to a metal lathe and made a couple of spool pieces for extra strength. You'll also need to extend the rear brake line and shorten the shifter threaded rod.

For a 4" relocation, you'll have to rework all of the forward curves to make it fit. You also have to rotate the crash bars forward by cutting and rewelding the seams at the attachment points. Very simple procedure but you have the cost to rechrome them.

The shifter threaded rod is very short at this location and is kind of sketchy; I'm going to move the connection point to the toe shifter section. I'll dig up the photos and post the procedure. All told I have 40 hours of fabrication time and $100 invested.
For more than 4" you'll have to move the floorboard assembly ahead of the rail which will require more involved fabrication.
when i bought it 2 years ago i was told it stock exhaust, tors and recently i put a k&n drop in filter in,it seems to run fine,no popping, but it could run better?
All i want to do is the derestrict as i read on power-tripp post.I have a trike conversion ,heavy 1300lbs,but i am surrounded by harleys here and dont ever want to be stuck behind. By the way i bought a new tt special in 1967,so good luck with project .My problem is i know almost about computers, type with one finger, thats why i would hire someone to install a proper tune

Well if you have a R3T that has not had any changes to the tune it is easy to add power. What are you running for an exhaust and have you made any changes to the intake? I would be more than happy to figure out and load a tune for you.
I am somewhat local to you.Knox in Need some help getting my 2013 touring tuned. Know any where i can get done?

I have not really looked that hard for someone yet. I have been helping a couple other gents with loading tunes recommended here.

I ride up through Knox a few times a year. I also take care of a couple businesses phone systems up there.

I was told there is a guy at the Indian dealer that knows Rockets, but I have not been in there since they sold out to Tom Wood
Having issues with starting! I have to put a heater on the foot peg on the ignition coil side for 15 mins to get beast to start! Any ideas?
