I have and use the .50 flips washer fix.
3 yrs. later an it still works,
although I might have replaced it once.
Also got different mirrors and the adapters from newbonneville.
no vibration now, (they're harley mirrors, SHHHHHHhh)
Anyway for shoulder and wrist pain I just got another set of handlebars.
Also put a Mustang seat on it.
It's WAY more comfortable now....
Good luck with getting yours right.

Save your money and do Flipper's .50 cent mod. It's essentially the same principle as the TM, but cost a BUNCH less. Instructions are in here; use the search function.
Flips idea cannot be turned off or adjusted on the fly, talk about dangerous.

I ran flips 50 cent throttle lock for about a year. Adjusted right the effect feels almost like removing the return spring. It's not a dangerous thing.

I did remove mine because I wasn't as smooth with the throttle at low speed with it installed.

It's not the least bit dangerous and can absolutely be turned off on the fly. It's just a simple friction mechanism; same as the TM, just a hell of lot cheaper.

Frankly, this is one of a few areas where Triumph could stand to copy HD (HD ignition switch is GREAT). HDs have a friction knob underneath the switch housing. It works fantastic when set properly.

Guys were complaining that a roll-on friction lock was too risky and didn't release with the brake in panics .... but a friction lock that stays on at all times and cannot be released unless the bar end is removed to take out the washer is safe? Whatever you say boss.

I use the $5 .00 wrist rest velcroed on the barend good enough for me beside over here in paradise throttle control /cruise control , is as useful as a screen door on a submarine
or more appropriately tities on a nun.

You've obviously not used it. It doesn't stay on all the time and there's no need to take off the bar end. Try it. It's cheap, effective and perfectly safe. if you don't like it, then do the TM or whatever you think is better.

My little 50 cent Flipmeisters Throttle lock has worked just fine since 2006 on my R3, since 07 on my Bonneville and 08 on my KLR. To emergency release it you just nudge the handlebar weight and the throttle snaps dhut. What could be simpler and NOTHING out there is cheaper.

It's flush with the throttle spool, allows you to retain the stock bar weights and best of all, it costs practically nothing. I can get Throttlemeisters if you want to blow some money. I don't. I'm cheap.

You guys are trying to overdesign something simple and foolproof or should I say idiot proof.

I have all the electronics to install an electronic cruise but it's on the shelf, collecting dust. I can't see the point. I already have a better mousetrap so why fiddle with mechanical and electrical stuff and why buy some fancy-dan add on when in 5 minutes you can install my idea.

I'd rather spend the money on Busch Lite....
