Just bought a Rocket 3 on E-Bay. When I say "just" I mean yesterday. It will be shipped here and will arrive in about 10 days. I'm really excited about it. I've lusted for an R3 for about 6 years now. Been riding for over 40 years. Have an 08 Kawasaki Concours 14 (will probably sell this to help with the married status) and a 2000 Aprilia RSV1000R. Love to ride and love the "twisties". The bike is fairly heavily modified with Corbin Beetle Bags heated seat and...Oh yes... a turbo.:D Lots of chrome and extra gauges. I'll be looking to hear from the turbo crowd about riding this beast. I am looking for a set of passenger boards for the missus as a replacement for the stock pegs. I am trying to appease her as much as possible. Any suggestions will be welcome.

CaptainCaeruleus over on the .com site is the resident turbo expert. I'm not sure if he is on this site or not.

Congratulations on your purchase.

As far as the rear boards, about the only commercial option are Rivco Passenger boards. You can find them at New Triumph Rocket III Parts and Accessories @ newr3.com or google them. Make sure you also purchase the extensions that move the boards about 4 in forward. They are required for mounting on the Roc (unless you build your own).

Welcome aboard.. Wow, Rockets Across America III, last year, was just a few miles from you in Eureka Springs. We had about 23 Rockets up there..

Welcome to the site .

Just to let you know if you get the rivco passenger boards you will have to get the extensions because they wont fit with the bettle bags and I believe you have to get the new bottem mount for the bags also, because the bag support mounts to the footpeg and the mount for the regular foot peg is different once you put the extensions and boards on . However it can be done with the support supplied with the bags it just is not as secure . I found this out on my 05 before they made the new bracket and made it work. The rivco boards are really fine pieces and I recommend them the wife likes them and its fun to flick them down and put your heels on them to give you that ****** rocket feel and change riding position on the long hauls.:D

If a Rockets Across America comes through Eureka Springs again that is about 45 minutes from my home. The owner of the Scandia Inn, a Bed and Breakfast there, is a good friend of mine and some special rates might be worked out. Lots of the roads around here are really gorgeous and can be challenging too. Thanks for the tip about the bottom mount bracket. I will probably contact Corbin and see if they have a "retro" bracket that has been made. I'm sure if I throw enough money at them that one can be found.:D

Congratulations

Yeah, I saw that bike on E-bay. I'm still a little over 6 months from being in the market and even though that one is not what I'm looking for I studied that auction HARD! It is a fantastic looking bike and if the seller's claims are true , you have an absolute MONSTER on your hands there. There is one accessory that you will need that everyone is forgetting. A large filing cabinet for storing your speeding tickets and court papers. That machine would SO get me thrown in jail. Good luck with her. (BTW, love the Aprilia, fantastic bike isn't it?)
