With a cam lobe separation angle of 112, my exhaust valves now open earlier than has been tried before in an R3 (to my knowledge). She now needs a complete re-tuning, but the most immediately noticeable effect is my idle is now a "snap, crackle, pop" akin to a top fuel dragster.

Well I couldn't resist... had to take her for an un-tuned test ride.

Reaction: WOW! Different bike! She's running lean, and pops likes a banshee when I let off (because she's lean). However, she rips through the RPM range like butter, and the power boost begins much lower in the RPM range. Engine revs way smoother, and pumping losses seem non existent. From 2000 to 7250 RPMs smooth as silk.

This was predicted by the supercharged studies where I gleaned my 112 LSA. I now have half the valve overlap I had before... so the SC is not losing boost out the overlapped exhaust. Also, with the exhaust valves opening much earlier, the pumping losses are much less. Hence smoother and faster revving. Now need some dyno time. I suspect she could use more ignition advance, as well as fuel adjustment.

Wilbur, I'll try and make you a sound clip first chance I get. Jerry at Cycle Solutions predicted she'd sound totally different, and she does. :eek:

Even if I knew how to do all of this stuff that Hombre is doing with his bike, my wife would KILL me for spending that much money on my "toys". All I can do is dream about it!
