Raising RPMs above 7000

The stock valve springs are weak, if the engine is stock it is not worth revving it past 6800 anyway,you will accelerate quicker shifting up a gear. You need a special map to go past 7k.

TuneECU may have a different maximum than Tuneboy, which Carpenter uses. And as has been said, there's no point without the proper tuning and appropriate hardware.

Point taken. I try to shift a 6500 since that's where the power seems to start falling, but 1st goes so fast I sometimes hit the limiter. Just wanted a little more before bumping it. Thanks for all your responses.

I guess I need a diet....Can't even break the Bridgestone Exedra Max loose in first if I'm sitting on it and difficult at a stop with the front brake held.

Or a supercharger like Stripes is running. 300+ HP makes it a bit easier to spin the tires in upper gears.
