well you could do that. if you did you could get the absolute biggest projecters you wanted. it would still be beneficial to put them in some kind of housing though to protect from rocks and bugs and such. touted to be the best available so far are the acrua tl projectors. absolutely massive http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=125

Tom - The BEST I've seen are here http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/90mm-bi-halogen/ - HELLA and 90mm. If not then Shin-Yo in Germany has some dipping units - http://stores.ebay.de/Sport-and-Cus...submit=Finden&_fsub=1992946014&_sid=999804094 The Fern-und Abblendlicht versions have main and dip in one.

The Hella units look great, but **** - that's expensive at £200 a piece.

I like the ones from the German company, especially these http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ellipsoid-Ne...pt=Motorrad_Kraftradteile&hash=item19bff94f7c which would be a doddle to fit. I'm sure EvilBob could design & make something if required, but these wouldn't need a shell or much of a mounting unit.

Dip and main beam in one unit would be a bonus, but I don't read enough German to make out which ones they are.

iirc they use H7 bulbs - simple to replace with HID in between MoT's And 90mm is HUGE.

The Hellas are by far the best - they have a system for switching LHD/RHD too.

The light you linked to - is 100% identical to the Triumph OEM foglights - only black. Useless as headlights.
