At the dealers this morning, with my grandson..it's half term and he wanted another tee shirt. While there overheard two guy's talking about the rocket and one guy told the other, that triumph have only produced 8000 rockets. Does anyone know if this is correct, seems like a small number to me, in some 6yrs of production. That's less than 1500 units a year...surely that's not right.
Also when the high idle recall came out on 09/25/07 for the 05 to 08 standard and classic models, it stated that there were 4697 of those models in the US.
Well hell, the mate next to me(shared office) loved my Rocket III and I thought he was gonna see it our way. He just pulled the trigger on 2007 used electra from harley dealer, said he felt like Harley is more excepted? WTF we are both in late 40's Harley pier pressure alive and well in Africa. Why is it just cause they have more t-shrts? Now he can't stop singing born to be wild, well atleast he bought a bike and a very nice looking one at that, but man I guess that kinda pressure and branding drove me the other way. I just wanted to ride....what I wanted to ride not what I was expected to ride.
Hellwalker,
he drank the coolaid,
good for him.
If he's more into the "image"
then he got what he needed.
As I'm sure you're aware,
not everybody sees it like we do.
Thats a good thing.
Less of us, more of them.
if everybody wanted or rode a rocket,
then we'd be the ones like everyone else.
I like being different.
We march to a different drummer.
Its all good, we have worked together on 3 contracts, I am just glad we can ride together usually our rotations overlap a few days. I just hope he does not mind riding behind me.....hehehe.
Wife was out of town last weekend, and Sunday was a 60 degree day so I went to have dinner at a local BBQue place that is well visited by the Harley crowd. I spent an hour there, didn't get to finish my burger because i had lots of Harley riders really looking the the Rocket. I answered alot of questions, and had a lot of positive comments.
When I left a lot of eyes were on the Rocket, so I thought that was good exposure and I was almost full.
