The temperature here yesterday was in the low 70's and not a cloud in the sky. After spending the morning watching my seven week old Granddaughter's whole face disappear from smiling I headed to the local BMW Dealer's open house. The guy provides a free Barbecue lunch so there is always a crowd. Only two Triumphs in the sea of motorcycles, another old guy on a T-100 Bonneville and the R/3. I had a long spirited debate with two BMW riders on how unsafe a car tire was on a motorcycle. I knew they were Beamer riders because they looked like Star Wars Soldiers on a three day pass with all of that padded gear. One was adamant that the CT would not handle in a curve because of the flat design. I countered with a brief run down on the Pig Trail run and we finally agreed to disagree. There were some great early BMW's in the mix, two of those new futuristic Victory cruisers, one perfectly restored early 750 Honda, and of course hundreds of BMW's and Harley's. I skipped the lunch due to the length of the line for free pig and headed to the next stop, a new Harbor Freight store opening in our town. That place is awesome. Since the quality and availability of Craftsman tools has long since gone, I will be leaving allot of my mad money in that store. The rest of the afternoon was spent in the garage looking for a short in my old Triumph chopper. The problem was located, a bad coil. There were several adult beverages involved in the hunt so I am truly amazed. Some days gentlemen are just better than others.
