'05 Rocket 3
Hey everyone, very glad to be here! I've been cruising the site for a couple of days and have already gleaned a lot of info... from the fact that there isn't actually an '04 model year, to some great advice about warm feet, and tricks for enhanced performance. Great site!

I'l looking at a locally owned '05 that has a few doodads already installed, like windscreen, leather Triumph bags, back rest and shelf, early model highway bars (I've seen the reviews of these too) and pegs, and it sure is some remarkable machine. Actually it's the first I've ever seen except in magazines, and it's just about broken in at 3300 miles....

Welcome.. :) I have one of the early '05's ( July 2004 ) with about 52,000 miles on it and still running great.. :) It's still just as fun to ride as it was the first day.. Although, due to weather and such, I haven't ridden mine more than around the block in the past couple of months. Any longer, and I'll think I'm riding a new bike!

It always amazes me when you can find a 5 year old Rocket with that few miles! What were they thinking? ;)

Welcome to the site....

I'm guessing from the handle that you've chosen that you're "fond" of sheep?

If so, you need to talk with 'Scot in Exile'.

Just kiddin'...

You'll find a lot of useful information and a great bunch of characters on this site.

I think the few miles comes from too many bikes, and not enough time...

...and yes, I like to eat sheep, at least after grilling or roasting!

I've been watching eBay to see what Rockets are actually going for at the moment, and am a little shocked! There was a brand new 300 mi loaded classic from 2008 that just went for just 10,600 a few days ago. What would be considered too much for the '05 with 33 hundred miles I'm looking at? Thanks in advance.

welcome from tn and i dont think ratboy was kidding bout scott in exile:D

I don't think what 'Scot in Exile' has in mind...

As far as the price for the '05, I wouldn't want to venture a guess, but for 10,500, I'd consider paying the extra and get a '10.
