NoStart

I have to agree, the ignition switch appears to be the culprit...happened to me in 08, got it replaced under warranty along with all three keys.

I had the same symptoms, spent quite a while checking out starter switch and side stand switch. Then pulled the clutch lever position switch from the clutch lever housing let it hang in air and it started first time.

Give it a try, takes 30 seconds or less, if it doesn't work get your avometer out and check the starter switch and side stand switch.

I went out to crank up the 'Silver Bullet' this morning to go to church (honest!), and while everything set up as normal (all indicators, all the right sounds, including the fuel pump), when I punched the 'start' button, absolutely NOTHING happened.
I tried several times (key off/key on/systems boot, all the 'right' sounds, ensure I'm in neutral, pull in the clutch, punch the start button) with negative results. the headlights are off with the key on, and I seem to remember that they stayed on until you hit the start button.
I'm suspecting the battery, but was wondering if there's anywhere else I should look first. I took her on a 150-mile ride yesterday with absolutely NO problems. Any help, advice, rants or whatever would be appreciated!!

Hey, I assisted another Rocket rider with a simialr issue a while back. My guess is it's a relay. Everything else would work (lights, horn, crank) but it won't start.

You can quickly swap out the available relays until you locate the culprit. Once it starts (and it will) you can replace the bad one.

Well, the dealer never did find the problem. They worked on it for 2 days, trying to reproduce the problem and removing and cleaning out the start switch. Apparently, the keyswitch was ok. I'm now tending to think that a relay was temporarily hung up. I brought her home, and she has not given me any more troubles. At least the dealer did not charge me for the work (and they gave her a quick cleaning to boot!) If it happens again, I'll call them-again. Hopefully not soon.:)
