Just got my 2005 Rocket and while trawling for parts and such came across this place. So I thought I had better step up and join.
Oh yeah I am from Australia, big island down the bottom part.

My bike is not new, its a 2005 with a few bolt ons added, not shown in the pic is a touring screen and leather paniers.
Got a couple of thing I need to fix, the cowling or surround around the radiator has a crack in it, and after looking around here I want to move the rear plate mount as well.

Welcome to the site. Nice engine and bike colors. Red is faster and the silver engine is larger And it appears your active alarm system has run out of chow

Welcome, welcome ... Ok, 1st things 1st ... Here's what we need to do ....

Just kidding.

This place is great for getting ideas and help with about anything, enjoy your stay.

My active alarm system is just waiting on the next meal to jump the fence

And feel free to offer any advice on what might be needed, this is my first R3 so this will be a learn as I go thing.

And thanks for the welcome

If you are interested in power you came to right place. Got any idea whats been done to her so far? Does she still have her secondaries? There are lots of little things I've found out about since poking around with the geniuses that live at this site. Did you know that Triumph purposely reduces the available power in the 1st three gears? These dudes told me how to get it back and alot more.
If you start down that road your wife and kids might think you moved out with all the time spent here.

Previour owner didnt mention any engine mods, so for now all I know about is the bolt ons.
Engine guards
sissy bar
small screen - just covers the ignition and guages.
paniers
Billet mirrors
and probally a few other dresser peices I have missed.

As far as I know it is stock in the engine, but if it has the power controled in the first three gears I think I am in trouble
After a couple of days of slow take offs, getting used to the weight and handeling I thought "why not see what it does from a standing start"

oh hell yeah

Now pitcure this, red and chrome R3 racing away from a standing start while the owers legs flap out behind him in the slip stream.

Well maybe not quite like that, but it felt like it at the time.
No idea how long it took to get up to 100k's (kilometers) as I couldnt take my eyes off the road and before I knew it I had to slowdown.

I love this bike

First thing to do is get rid of the cat box.

The next thing is to fix the spedo-err. Then open up the secondaries for 1st-3rd. You can physically remove them, with toil and sweat and a garage full of tools, and you still will want to quell the decel pop. There's a simple way and that would be remapping the ECM. And to get it all done with a single tune you need TuneBoy. But you'll have to find all your answers to TuneBoy questions here, on this site.

With a full height windscreen a set of lowers can also add some wind protection. They (Lowers) arguably can cause heat prostration in the most arid areas in the summer. Tip over bars and a full set of floorboards, for you and the miss, and you're ready for the wide open spaces.

Ok, Whats a Cat box?

And I have a full size screen for out of town trips, 5 min bolt on that fits over the existing small screen.
Lower screen wont be getting fitted, I am in the north west of Aus and with our summer coming on we will be sitting around the 40deg celsius (104 f) so I will need all the cooling I can get.

I personally dont like floorboards, I like the pegs I have. But I wouldnt mind getting a set of Highway pegs, they attach to the engine bars and are simply somewhere forward to rest your feet while crusing.

See, lots of options. Heretic is from the church of tuneboy, myself I prefer the PCIII and GiPro combo because it takes less devotion. We both agree on yanking out the secondary throttle plates and taking control away from the computer, upgrading the exhaust to something less restrictive and eliminating the twists and turns of the intake with either a single undertank filter or triple K&N's . Whatever your preference, there is much more fun to be had out of an R3 than what the factory thinks you can handle.
I think there is some kind of secret agreement between Suzuki and Triumph so the Hyabusa doesn't lose face.

The catalytic converter under the bike thats part of the stock exhaust system, it's very restricting. Sounds like you have all the bling you need, I suggest you start reading up on the past threads in the performance areas of the site. I could write you a list, but it's always better to read all the options and choose a path.
