Hello to all, just purchased a 2005 Rocket with a turbo and carbondry kit on it,and am a born again bike fan after 30+ years of Harley riding.
When I found this bike, wasn't looking for it,really didn't need it but........had to have it and oh my word what a blast, still finding out about it,so will probably be asking a bunch of dumb questions so bare with me.
I know a couple of guys here, Lonnie and Daryl who are also from this area.
Plan on meeting a lot more of you this coming year.
Plans so far for the bike make a new header to the turbo and put some kind of fairing/wind breaker on it,(I never knew neck skin flapped !!!???? ).I think the motor should be black too, anyone had any luck or success changing an alloy motor to a black one ?
Now if the weather would just get above freezing hmmmmmm. later Duncan.

You actually walked in someplace and bought a turbo modified R3?!? WOW
If she is set up right and runs good, start making notes (in detail) whats what and wheres where. 1st thing I'd want to know is what aftermarket ECM control it's using, (tuneboy, Power commander etc) and copy the current tune onto your home or shop computer (having a backup in this case is essential). If something were to happen to the software and you don't have a copy, oh boy ... going through all the BS starting from scratch will be a nightmare, someone put alot of time and effort into whatever it's got in her now if she runs good. You have a very unique situation that the previous owner either was a very patient, detail oriented dude, or could never get it to run right and sold it. From your excitement, I assume they did it right and she runs like a stripped ass ape.
WOW, I'm excited for you ... 200+ torque and HP makes me envious.
I'm emphasizing caution by suggesting you document as much as you can because getting/keeping the right fuel/air setup is the difference between enjoying the ride and knocking a hole in a piston.
I'd love to hear more about your getting familiar with your new toy and welcome to the site. We have a few guys here that have taken the leap to turbo's and super chargers, so ask questions all you want ... someone here has been there and done that.
I'm sure others as well as myself would like to see your set up, pictures would be great when you get the time and figgure out how to post them.
You can just paint the engine, it's just like a car motor and doesn't air cool at all.
ps... I'm from and have family in Enid.

Thanks all for the welcome, I think I've attatched a couple of pics, hope they come through.
It seems to run out really well (as in OMFG !!! wasn't quite ready for that lets go drink strong coffee to calm back down !!! ) when it comes on it does come on STRONG ,don't think it makes more than 4-6 pounds of boost, according to the gauge, but having no point of refrence I'm unsure of what it should do ? I don't think the gauge is hooked up right though as it never shows vacuum, think the sensor maybe mislocated, more investigation to follow....
It has a Tune boy and a Dyno jet Power Commander (well at least I have paerwork and computer discs for both) it has a homemade (?) collector and exhaust, the header has got to go as it gets pretty warm on the leg, plan on dropping it down and back under the pegs, and on making it out of stainless, in the next month or so.
Also got to morph some kinda sport type bikini fairing on to keep my face from getting stretched further !!!:D:)

Is that the exhaust outlet under the rear fender? Someone put alot of time and effort into that bike, those things don't come off a shelf!

That rear tire has got to go ... she's screaming for the dark side!
Dublflush is making carbon side covers that would look great with all the other carbon parts, You might want to pressure him into selling his work.

Yeah sure is it bends around the swing arm on the left side then back up under the fender, sounds pretty cool too.Does need to be ceramic coated though whatever is on it now won't take the heat.Attatched one more pic hope it comes through.later Duncan.
