Neutral switch

Hello again everyone.

I have driving the bike for a while now.
Som more questions that maybe someone here can answer.
The gear position sensor was never solved. It was not possible to remove the pin that was stuck. I made the sensor springloaded instead. It was a gps for a suzuki. Connected the neutral to the ecu. now there is a neutral indicator,which makes it possible to warm up on the side stand.
My question is if it possible to disable the gearpos for the ecu. somewhere I have read that it is. if the original gps is no longer functioning should not the mil be lit?
I have purchased tune ecu but not hocked it up yet. Do I need a usb cable or does it work with elm327.
I normally and for years used that for cars.. I have tried to find info to disasble gps but no luck. How does the gear position affect the bike when it is standard. Adjusting the ignition setting rpm limit? Is it obvious or do I have to compare with another Rocket to notice it.
The other thing I have realized is that when it is hot outside and bike is hot the idle is low and sometimes stalling.
I suspect the ecu is not standard. The complete airfilter assembly is replaced by three k/n filter directly on the throttle. The low idle and stalling should that set the mil?

i will try to furnish you with some info
what ever that plastic part is it does not belong and should be pulled out if at all possible (maybe just drill it out) and replace with spring and cap (maybe from an old ball point pen the clicker that would drive the teachers crazy) has to be metal .
you have 6 spots for gear 1,2,3,4,5,6 (nothing in the middle) so you have spots for 5 gears and one for neutral.
each spot has a resistor that sends a voltage reading to the ecu. so it has to be the correct resistant for the ecu to accept
on the gears you could 3 or 4 or 5 as a substitute for the 1st thur 5th gears.
to do a by pass you could use a three way switch with one for neutral and one for 5th .
hope this helps you understand the system.
to get the info on the resistance on the switch spots you could use ohm meter to measurer each spot.

the spring and cap just creates a ground to the shaft.

The small spot is the Neutral position.
The other 6 big spots are for gears 1 to 6 (Rocket transmission only has 5 gears though and won't shift further than 5th)

The brass pin should have the spring underneath/behind it in the hole.
It keeps the pin pushed outward to make contact with the spots on the GPS.
You'll have to grasp and pull that pin out if the shift shaft (the shift shaft turns when you change gear), clean it so it slides easily in and out of the hole, and put a small spring behind it. Maybe a biro pen spring or part of one will do.

Thanks for reply. I understand the difference resistance for each gear.
I have really tried to remove the pin. wd40, tapping, heat etc
The only improvnent is that the connection to ground is there. It is metal corroded with the aluminium.
The previous owner has tried aswell.
The surface is really rough. I thought it was some hard plastic because of this and no electric connection.
I don't dare to be more violent.
I grinded it smooth and has another similar GPS instead. With a spring pushing towards the pin. that at least made it possible to warm up on the sidestand.
But why is the mil not set. Wouldn't that be the case if the GPS is not working. And in what way is the bike affected. Is it not noticeable without comparing to another bike.

the ecu is not that sophisticated so it doesn't check what gear that the bike is in so no codes.
i think that the ecu has three different air/fuel ratios one for first one for second and one for third fourth and fifth. so if it doesn't have a signal the question is what does it use for a air/fuel ratio? (i don't have a clue) it may fail safe to the neutral air/fuel ratio like it does when the clutch switch is shorted.
