It occurs to me that when posting internal engine changes (cams, cam chains, cam blades, etc.) that I've never mentioned Mell and Molly. Don't ever put new parts like these in your engine without properly lubing them first. Use molybdenum disulfide (Molly) for bearing surfaces (like cams) and engine assembly lube (Mell) for chains and guide blades. You will come to regret it if you forget it. :rolleyes:
 
In lieu of Mell STP works well, it's about all it's good for. Well that and sticking small nuts and bolts to your socket for those tricky assembly items. Just don't get too much in your oil.

Probably is. Kinda how most stuff is, really - one or two manufacturers, two dozen name-brands.

3M has a pretty nice molybdenum disulfide grease. Been using theirs for years, though it's almost certainly going to be a special-order item where you're at (like it is here). In lieu of that stuff, there's always Sta-Lube.
