You were there before I got there in 1994 but I knew some of the long-term guys you got to meet. You were there when the weather was still fairly decent. I remember some winter classes when the actual temperatures (not wind chill) got down to around minus 20 degrees F. A class was never cancelled due to weather since the school started in the 1960s but all kinds of extra safety precautions went into effect.
Decent weather, sure, no snow. But we still had to use an axe to open the 'People's Pond" to wash the 'Capitalist' stench of our weakling bodies...

I have cousins in China,Canaan, Portland and Fryeburg Maine....95 to Rt 1 is a great ride,a lot of great places to eat and visit along the way. The ultimate ride would be to catch the Cat Boat in Portland to Yarmouth,Nova Scotia.I just talked with my cousin in Canaan they are snow bound and 2' more due this week at 12 below. June would be a good time to ride in Maine.
Maine to Nova Scotia Ferry Service | The CAT - Bay Ferries
that cat ride I did it in june 2016 one R3 two souls nearly $400 one way rather steep just to watch turbines spewing water from the stern at 50 mph

Wow that much.. well i guess it beats being eaten by "Black Fly's" that time of year..
A'yup, we have black flies in late May into June, but they prefer woods and waters to pavement. Don't let those little pests keep you away! They are far worse up country, less bad near the coast. People in Bar harbor tell me how bad they are here, but they wouldn't dream of going inland a couple of hours. There they are fierce!
