Laverda bike show at cleverland has been put back until August this is the second time in three years due to the grounds being soaked .they should just go back to the story bridge

Can't go back to Storey Bridge park mate .. BCC after complaints from the locals won't allow it due to the congestion it caused. Stuck with the 'new paddock' it seems. Certainly lost a lot of the character of the old venue

Third time in three years mate. Redland Shire won't be happy untill there's nothing but touch footy at the old showground. They lost the big car show to Willowbank the historic trucks to Beenleigh. The Laverda Club is going to have to find a home that dosn't panic about the surface of there sporting feilds if it looks like rain.

Rumour has it that the Laverda Show is there to stay. Club don't seem to be concerned about delays or Council pulling the pin on planned show dates. So I was told anyway.

Hi guys, i took the liberty to sign up so I could just clarify this, as one of the CLQ committee and organizers of the show, we are already looking at shifting the show for next year. Like the public we are sick of the grounds being too swamp like to run the show. All three times we have had to postpone it, it has been sunny but the field is still flooded.

Having to postpone it is not only annoying to you wonderful folk who support us, but means it costs us several thousand dollars more and we have to do a whole lot of extra work rescheduling. The effect of the extra costs cuts into what we can give to the Make a Wish foundation and makes it more difficult to put the show on next time sometimes even having to dip into our own pockets to make it happen.

So yes we are very concerned, RSC have been good and helped with some of the rescheduling costs but we will almost 95% likely it will be elsewhere next year so this doesn't happen again.

Anyway great to have you on board and your comments are appreciated, no we can't go back to Story Bridge for the reasons mentioned above, but we will try and bring it back more central to the city.

Any helpful suggestions are welcome. We also want to bring back the dyno which you guys should do **** well at!!!

New date this year is 18th August, see you there hopefully and thanks for your feedback.

Cheers

Derek

P.S. I don't have an R3 but it is a triple at least

Haha, no the thread popped up on my daily Google search for anything new Laverdaish. Thought it might be a good idea to explain the situation.

I do have a mate with one though, spent a fortune on customizing it. He may well be on this forum already. See pic attached.

Laverda riders are obviously closet Rocket owners.
Or R3 riders are frustrated Laverda lovers. I've had 2 Laverda Montjuics - back and ball busting loud anti-social (legalised by happy accident in the UK) track bikes. And I miss them.

Oddly too - a fair few Buell specialists early on (pre HD buy out) were set up by ex-Laverda guys.

Glad you let us know about future plans for the show .. obviously there is some misinformation getting around the joint (which I actually passed on) will set the record straight now that I know the facts .... thanks
