Just joined but have been reading the forums which have been entertaining and of help. I have gone through the "Paint Can Noise" issue. If anyone is interested in the saga just let me know. End result...no more noise and Triumph took care of the whole cost outside of the warranty period.

Welcome to the forum. Triumph has been pretty fair with fixing defects beyond the warranty. Makes you think not all makers are cold hearted.

Intro

Thanks for all of your kind welcomes. FYI I did have the bike into the dealer three times during warranty for the noise but they said it was a hydraulic cam chain tensioner and the noise goes away when it warmed up...which it did so I believed them. They should know right? Wrong! Thanks to the R3 forums I found out about this issue and was able to inform the dealer that the tensioner was not hydraulic but mechanical only (spring loaded. i deducted the noise went away for the most part due to expanding materials as it warmed up. After a while and after the warranty period it would make noise all the time especially in cooler weather. So the moral of this story for all of us with the R3's is that don't think your local Triumph dealer knows of this issue and trust your own thoughts.
