Having purchased a 2005 R3 in good condition with some upgrade-bling at a truly excellent price around 8 months ago it's time to fish for tips and advice from those who know far more about this magnificent bike than I do. Eventually, if I can sell some income property, I'll fit her with a supercharger, but for now I'm shopping hi-pro exhausts/intakes/mapping systems for the R3. Seems Predators are the pipes of choice, although I do not like the looks of them. Not fond of the Jardines either. Anyone familiar with Arrow or Chain Reaction pipes?

Welcome.
Those aren't the pipes the sites majority have used, so I doubt you will find much info on them here. Finely tuned and expensive pipes aren't too critical for a Rocket engine, it's more like a tractor and just needs to breath. If you really want to supercharge it later on, changing out the exhaust manifold for a header is probably a good idea. Most here usually discuss the sound from low restriction exhaust since the wrong tubes on an R3 can sound very bad very easily. But poke around, I'm sure someone has seen something somewhere that will help find what you're looking for.

Welcome to the site from New Jersey, bloodsucker!:D

Let us know where you hail from.

Sooner or later, all the info you seek will be revealed. Sorry I can't help you with the exhaust question, Though the TORS with cat bypass, triple K&N filters, PC III or Tune Boy sounds like the path you are on. Also, the GI pro addition might be very well worth your while, too!

Welcome to the club. Can't help you on the exhaust, I decided to pretty much keep the Rocket engine "as is" as it was plenty fast for me already. As for the rest of the accessory catalog I pilfered it pretty good to deck out my ride...but it is being sold in April so that I can "stimulate" the economy later on in the year when I plunk down some cash for a new R3T.

Thanks all for the warm reception. Lots to mine along these threads! Been looking at the TORs, triple K&Ns, leaning towards PCIII as I've had good results with it on my VTX. The GI Pro will be among the next items purchased...which model is best? Don't think I'm going to customize this ride to the extent I did my X, mama will only tolerate so much more from me after all! However, performance add ons are a must and some airbrush at least:D.....Maybe a bit 'o bling...

So, where are you from?

There really is only one GI pro unit to get for our beasts and its the GI pro ATRE (Advanced Timing Retardation Elimimator).

BTW, I owned two very nicely worked up VTX 1800s prior to getting the big boy bike!:D
